The best training investment you can make isn’t a module. It’s a mentor. Slide decks and modules may check the box, but they don’t prepare agents for the reality of the floor. Real learning happens shoulder-to-shoulder, not screen-to-screen. • Confidence grows faster when new hires learn by doing and getting feedback in real time. • Retention improves because employees feel supported from day one. • Culture gets stronger as mentors pass on values and judgment no deck can capture. https://lnkd.in/gr8eH46P

Every time Gen Z comes up, the stereotypes follow. They won’t stay off their phones. They don’t want to work. They expect everything to be entertaining. But let’s be honest. Every generation has felt the same frustration with training. ° Millennials sat through slide decks. ° Gen X slogged through compliance modules. ° Boomers endured endless lectures. The problem is structural. Training that’s passive, generic, and disconnected from the job doesn’t work for anyone. What does work is training that’s interactive, experiential, and continuous. Gen Z may be the first to demand something better, but when training evolves, everyone benefits. https://lnkd.in/g7jc3iBF

It’s a vision that feels straight out of a superhero movie. And for most companies, it still is. The truth? Customer interactions are often too complex, too emotional, and too important to hand over entirely to machines. That’s why the organizations seeing real results aren’t asking AI to replace people. They’re using it to augment them. In the contact center, AI is most powerful when it: • Gives agents a safe space to practice tough conversations • Provides instant, consistent feedback • Automates evaluation so trainers can focus on coaching That’s the real future of AI in service: not replacing humans, but preparing them to deliver better experiences than ever. https://lnkd.in/gUtpk_gz

Does retention start in training? When agents feel unprepared, they leave. And when they leave, customers follow. So, the fix isn’t more slides or longer onboarding. It’s experiential practice that builds confidence and sticks. https://lnkd.in/gEqSv5ag

Click-through training looks cheap. In reality, it’s one of the costliest mistakes companies make. Most compliance modules follow the same formula: read a slide, click "Next," maybe answer a question. On paper, it checks the box. In practice, it creates false confidence, wastes money, and leaves your team unprepared for the real job. The alternative is training that sticks. Experiential learning, where agents practice real-world scenarios, builds confidence and competence in ways “click-next” modules never can. It turns training from a compliance exercise into a performance driver. https://lnkd.in/gexaVTv5

Most contact centers still rely on classroom training as the main event for onboarding agents. The problem? That’s not how people actually learn. Research shows only about 10% of learning happens in formal training. The rest comes from peer interaction (20%) and on-the-job experience (70%). When the focus is on that 10%, new agents leave training with knowledge but not the skills or confidence to apply it in real situations. And much of what they learned fades quickly. The best contact centers are changing the model. They still do classroom training, but they double down on realistic, hands-on practice that turns theory into action. https://lnkd.in/gQ_zt2dk
