Years of research and development finally peaked last month with the launch of our first VIG offering 🪟 Bringing VELUX Vacuum Insulating Glazing (VIG) technology to market has taken a committed effort from people across VELUX, alongside external partners including Guardian Glass Europe & Guardian Glass North America We brought together expertise across the full value-chain from research, design and construction, operations, procurement, and testing and continued to reshape the work as we learned. Like many radical innovations, the project has been through ups-and-downs, paused and restarted along the way. But we have managed to push-through due to the relentless drive of people across many disciplines who kept exploring the potential of VIG. I am proud that we dare to rethink what window technology can be for the future. But a new technology only becomes innovation when it benefits people. With VIG technology, we have the potential to deliver a step-change on several window performance parameters while using fewer materials. The early feedback from our UK and Ireland launch has been incredibly encouraging... AND our VIG solution has already won its first award, taking home #BestExteriorProduct🏆 Thank you to everyone – colleagues and partners – who has helped bring this from an idea to the market.

Three things I learned at Greenbuild 2026: 1️⃣ Wellbeing and resilience is redefining performance. Comfort, daylight, fresh air, acoustics, and resilience aren't extras. They're becoming baseline expectations for the places where we live, work, and learn. 2️⃣ Decarbonization has entered its practical era. The conversation isn't just about carbon anymore. It's about affordability, operating costs, and making building performance pencil out. 3️⃣ Circularity is growing. Less talk about aspiration, more focus on implementation. The question is no longer why circular economy principles matter, but how to put them into practice. And how better use and reuse of materials are sound economics. The thread connecting all three? People are looking for solutions that solve more than one problem at a time. Lower carbon. Resilience. Better spaces. Greater value. That's where the industry's momentum feels strongest right now. And speaking of momentum… our proposed session on Natural Ventilation was selected for the official program from 9,700 submissions, with just 120 making the final cut. Honored to be part of the collaboration and excited to see this important conversation on natural ventilation take the stage. Congratulations to the VELUX team! What idea from Greenbuild are you taking back to your projects, clients, or organization? I'd love to hear what's resonating with others. 👇 Stephan Moyon Emily Ercolano Christoffer Plesner Luca Haberkorn Jason Breaux VELUX

Today, as Product Manager in Digital Solutions, he combines decades of product expertise with a lifelong interest in digital technology and sustainability. Most recently, he has been working on an upgrade to the VELUX ACTIVE app, introducing a new content feed. It provides users with news, practical advice and useful tips, helping them discover more features and get more from their VELUX products. “VELUX ACTIVE automatically keeps your home fresh and healthy, but not every user discovers its full potential. Through the app’s new content tab, we can support users in specific situations and show how small adjustments can improve their indoor climate.” The next step is to make the content more personalised for each user, based on factors such as local climate, geography and the products installed in each home. “Homeowners in Southern Europe may need advice about air conditioning or hail protection, while users in the US often have electric blinds but not electric roof windows. Our content should reflect those differences.” For Steffen, this is about more than adding another feature. His long-term vision is to help more people understand how daylight, ventilation, temperature and CO₂ levels work together to create a healthy indoor climate. Even after a quarter of a century at VELUX, Steffen remains focused on what comes next: anticipating customers’ evolving needs and using technology to make everyday life at home better.

Now there’s something in between. A modern glass rooflight that bridges the gap between traditional domes with glazing and our more advanced rooflights. The new Standard glass rooflight makes it easier to choose a glass-top solution that combines aesthetics, performance and affordability: ✓ Improved thermal performance and aesthetics compared to plastic domes. ✓ Meets architectural and documentation requirements. ✓ Designed for builders who value quality, speed, and compliance without stretching budget limits.

Installing heritage roof windows just got easier. Our new heritage conservation roof window with vacuum insulated glazing (VIG) not only helps preserve the authentic character of historic buildings. It is also designed with installers in mind. 👇 Here are three benefits for installers

“There had to be a better way.” Today, installers often build the interior lining themselves – even though it can be the most time-consuming part of fitting a roof window. For Hjørleif Klein, this was a challenge worth solving. Together with his team, he set out to develop VELUX own lining sub-construction. “We wanted to create a solution that would help installers complete the lining job faster while achieving a better result.” Rather than developing the solution behind closed doors, the team invited installers into the innovation process. “Listening to installers and learning from their experience is essential. When they have something tangible in their hands, the feedback starts flowing – and that allows us to develop the solution together with them,” Hjørleif explains. Hjørleif now proudly holds the finished product in his hands – a solution that helps installers: ✓ Save time (at least one hour and most likely more) ✓ Achieve a consistent, high-quality finish ✓ Simplify a difficult and messy task “It is incredibly rewarding to identify a clear gap in the market and turn it into something that improves installers’ working day,” says Hjørleif, Head of Installation Products and Technical Excellence, VELUX. The VELUX lining sub-construction is available as a starter pack, which also includes the VELUX vapour barrier collar.
