Aluminum and copper cables look like a straightforward material stream. But once you start separating them, the interaction between the individual process steps becomes crucial. For this trial in our test center, we processed a mixed fraction of aluminum and copper cables using: • ZZS air separator • TTS separation table • HOTU turbo mill The setup allowed us to test how the material behaves throughout the process and how the individual steps can be adjusted to achieve a clean separation of aluminum and copper. That is exactly why we run these trials before talking about a final setup. Different input materials behave differently, and small adjustments in one process step can influence the result further down the line. We regularly share test runs like this at TRENNSO-TECHNIK® And if aluminum, copper or similar mixed material streams are part of your daily work, feel free to connect with me here on LinkedIn.

Something that becomes clear every time we run RDF trials: the separation result depends heavily on how the material behaves under real conditions and on finding the right settings for it. In this test center trial, we used our ZZS zigzag air classifier to separate mineral components from RDF material. The input was a typical mixture from municipal and commercial waste. The goal was a clean split into: • a high calorific light fraction • a heavy fraction with minimal contamination For consistent quality refuse derived fuel, this separation step can make a significant difference. What I like about trials like this is that you can directly see how the material reacts to different settings, where the separation cut sits and what needs to be adjusted before scaling up the process. If you’re interested in more practical separation trials and recycling insights, follow TRENNSO-TECHNIK® If you’re working with similar material streams, feel free to connect with me here on LinkedIn. I’d be happy to exchange experiences.

Still losing copper in your recycling process? I often come across cable recycling lines where 2–10% of copper ends up in the PVC fraction. That’s a lot of value slipping away. But there’s a solution. With retrofitting from TRENNSO-TECHNIK, we’ve helped many customers significantly reduce copper losses – and the return on investment usually comes quickly. In this clip, we processed 20 kg of customer material in our technical center to test feasibility and estimate the copper content. The results spoke for themselves. If this sounds familiar in your operation, feel free to reach out. Happy to take a look and help you improve efficiency. #CableRecycling #CopperRecovery #DrySeparation #RecyclingSolutions #TrennsoTechnikR #RecyclingIndustry

One thing I’ve learned with C&D waste: the material doesn’t forgive shortcuts! Variability will expose every weak link in the process. In this test center run we processed a typical mixed C&D fraction and used a setup combining SIS, ZZS and TTS. The goal wasn’t just “moving material”, but producing consistent fractions you can actually work with, even when the input changes. If you want more hands-on content on construction & demolition waste, material recovery and sorting setups, follow TRENNSO-TECHNIK® on LinkedIn and if you’re working with similar C&D streams, feel free to connect with me here on LinkedIn so we can exchange notes.

PP/PE flakes are a great application example of how efficient dry separation can improve the material characteristics for your downstream process. In this test center trial, we used the ZZS windsifter to separate PP/PE flakes from lightweight impurities: - Heavy fraction: cleaned PP/PE - Light fraction: foils (labels), paper and other light contaminants Quick question: In your PP/PE lines, what’s usually the bigger headache - foils, paper, or something else entirely? What I like about this kind of trial is how transparent it is: you can see the split, check purity, and understand how the material behaves before you scale anything up. If you’re interested in more real-world separation tests and recycling process insights, follow TRENNSO-TECHNIK®, we share more trials and learnings there.

One thing that’s always true in recycling: “good on paper” doesn’t beat “works on the material.” In this test center run we processed electronic motors with a combined setup: - ZZS windsifter - VEHA hammer mill - SIK screening machine - TTS separating table What I like about trials like this is how quickly you see the real levers: where liberation improves, where fines start to hurt separation, and what that means for clean fractions and metal recovery. If you’re into practical recycling process insights (real material, real results), follow TRENNSO-TECHNIK® for more test runs and learnings from the field and if you’d like to exchange notes on motor processing challenges, feel free to connect with me here on LinkedIn.
