Fine-Tuning Works. That’s the verdict from the Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy in a first-of-its-kind independent benchmark of AI for regulatory comments. Researchers generated comments on EPA, FDA, and FMCSA dockets using Statt's fine-tuned policy model vs. Google's Gemini. They then ran blind, automated scoring against real human-written comments. Statt came out ahead of both on all six criteria: Overall score (out of 5): Statt: 4.18 Human-written: 3.20 Gemini: 2.35 The widest gaps came where policy work is hardest: Actionability: 4.82 for Statt vs. 2.52 for Gemini Evidence: 3.30 for Statt vs. 1.30 for Geimin When Georgetown expanded the human set to ~3,300 comments pulled from Regulations.gov, the gap grew. I hope every government relations, public policy, regulatory affairs professional takes away Georgetown’s conclusion. When considering AI tools, look deeply at what the work requires, what quality looks like, and which tool meets that bar. For policy work, their answer was clear: “specialization matters.” Much like a well-trained college or graduate school student, general models know how to write and reason, but policy work requires AI that can access deep context, technical expertise, assess risk, and connect the dots on the human relationships. Having our AI models validated independently is a meaningful milestone for the Statt team. Read the full report: https://lnkd.in/gKP3cgvK

Last week, our CEO, Steve Glickman, joined Steve Clemons at the American Growth Conference hosted by Widehall for a conversation about AI, policy complexity, and how leaders make decisions in an increasingly fast-moving regulatory environment. One of the biggest themes: AI won’t replace the need for expert judgment. It will change the speed and quality of the information behind it. As specialized AI agents become part of policy and regulatory workflows, teams will be able to better monitor change, adjudicate risk, and use real-time data to anticipate what may happen next. For organizations operating in highly regulated environments, that means moving from simply reacting to regulatory change to understanding what’s coming and acting earlier. A great conversation about where purpose-built AI is headed and what it means for policy, regulatory, and business leaders. Watch the full conversation below. https://lnkd.in/gXvRq6A6

We’re excited to have our CEO, Steve Glickman, joining the American Growth Conference tomorrow in Washington, D.C. for a fireside chat on AI, policy complexity, and the speed of American growth. As technology, capital, and industry move faster, the institutions surrounding them are navigating an increasingly complex policy environment. Steve will share his perspective on how AI can help leaders make sense of that complexity faster, while keeping human expertise and judgment at the center. If you’re attending, catch Steve at 2:20 PM on Tuesday, September 29 at the Willard InterContinental. Register: ags26.splashthat.com/1 Looking forward to a great conversation and a great day in D.C.
