[CASE STUDY] Behind every large enterprise, SAP quietly powers thousands of business processes. Now imagine having to migrate that system in just three days. As part of our customer's integration project following an acquisition, our Span team successfully migrated the SAP environment from the former owner's data center to the customer's infrastructure within a tightly controlled downtime window. It was one of the most complex tasks in the entire project, and one where careful planning made all the difference. [CASE STUDY] Migrating BI solutions is challenging enough. But what happens when the databases you need are unavailable? Our customer is a manufacturing company that relied on centralized data warehouse for reporting. As part of the integration project, those BI solutions also had to be migrated. But what happens when you're ready to start the migration of BI solutions, only to discover that they don't have access to customer's databases? Spoiler alert: a 36-hour call with the vendor's support team responsible for managing those databases. How did the team solve the problem and keep the project moving forward? [CASE STUDY] When our customer acquired another company, the work did not end with the deal itself. The integration effort spanned continents, teams, and technologies. As part of the project, new office locations in Mumbai and Tokyo also needed to be prepared for the upcoming migration. One Span colleague volunteered to take on the task in person. Before long, he was on-site, working on migration plans and coordinating activities needed for a successful transition, while the team in Zagreb provided remote support. [BLOG] A customer record changes. Then changes again. Six months later, finance needs to know what it looked like on a specific date. Sounds familiar? 👀 That's exactly where many data platforms start showing their limitations. In our latest blog, Matej Petrinović, our Data Engineering Specialist, explores how CDC and SCD2 work together in Databricks to preserve historical context without relying on increasingly expensive full-table reloads. Read on to discover how a CDC → Bronze → Silver SCD2 architecture helps keep analytical and source systems aligned while maintaining a complete history of changes. [CASE STUDY] When one company acquires another, the goal is not just to combine businesses, but to create a single, connected IT environment that supports future growth. For this project, Span coordinated on-site migration support across 15 locations on four continents, helping users transition smoothly and ensuring business continuity throughout the process. A key part of the approach were 'migration clinics'. How did they help accelerate adoption and keep the project moving forward? [CASE STUDY] 15 locations across four continents and 1,573 users and devices to migrate. And that was only one part of the project's scope. After acquiring another company, our customer relied on Span to help navigate the next phase: separating the acquired organization's IT environment and integrating it into a new one, with minimal impact on daily operations. But how do you approach a project of that scale? Watch Part 3 and read the full story: https://lnkd.in/dbCdEVKP #SpanIT
