Making content takes juice. Like… actual juice. Brain juice, soul juice, the "why do I have to use 5 tools for this????” juice. So we’re talking about it over lunch, and you should come hang with us. I’ve been deep in the Slate universe these past few months. Close enough to see how the product works, but also close enough to watch the team build from their own personal scars as former social media marketers My POV sits somewhere between creator brain and the social media manager with limited resources, and the thing I keep coming back to is this: I’m tired of stitching a bunch of tools together just to make one piece of content look good—Slate gets that. And because it’s me, Eric, and Christina are hosting… let’s be very clear..this will not be one of those corporate coded “webinars” where someone reads bullet points off a screen. We don’t have that level of audacity. Or patience. It's gonna be like a lunch break where we talk shop, share what's working (and what's delusional), and show the stuff that actually makes social teams faster. If that sounds like your vibe, come through: https://lnkd.in/gF8STyc5

⚠️ Social media managers, brace yourselves: This post might save you HOURS of work… and a few therapy bills. Have you ever thought to yourself… “Why am I creating content on 5+ platforms when I can do it all in ONE place?” Well Eric Stark + Michael Horton thought of this very problem a few years back and created Slate. They wanted to create the COMPLETE content creation platform for social teams. No more chasing down assets, or logos, or getting the wrong font or hex codes. ONE PLATFORM TO RULE THEM ALL. (Had to use a LOTR reference here 😅) Want to check it out? https://lnkd.in/gy_HgkNe Social teams work with so many fragmented tools, so why not give them a place to collaborate and work together in one place? And who better to create a tool that could do this very thing, than a couple of social media managers who have been in the trenches of content creation! Slate. Built for social teams, by social teams 💚

9 years ago, I made a social post for the NFL that changed my career. But I almost blew it. I captured a wild, unplanned moment. Then found myself in the back of a moving car, scrambling to edit the footage on my iPhone. I was bouncing between apps, cutting clips, adding branding, formatting for 1x1, and chasing approvals. All before someone else posted it first. It worked. The content was a win. But the process was a nightmare. And it eventually pushed me to build something I couldn’t find anywhere else. I started writing this story out and realized… it’s too long for a LinkedIn post. 💥 So I wrote a blog to tell it! https://lnkd.in/gFE8cYzY I’ll be using this space to share stories from my time in social, successful frameworks I’ve used with teams, and honest thoughts on where content and brand are headed. Writing is FUN

I left my dream job doing marketing for the NFL to build the tool I wish I'd had. For 10+ years I made social and digital content for the 49ers, the Chiefs, and the league. My cofounder Michael Horton and I met working together at the 49ers. We kept landing on the same problem: social teams were doing some of the most important creative work at the company with none of the right creative tools. If you've worked in social, you know the feeling. Stressed, making content on the fly. Switching between a dozen apps that don't talk to each other. Trying to make something engaging, native, brand consistent, and fast all at once, all the time. I'm not a video editor. I'm not a graphic designer. But in social, you're expected to be both and more. So I fumbled through consumer tools like CapCut that didn't meet brand, collaboration, or IT standards and pro tools like Photoshop and Premiere that couldn't keep up with the speed of social. There had to be a better way. So we built Slate. A creation platform made for the way social teams actually work: fast, collaborative, on-brand. Most NFL teams use it now. So do a ton of the brands you follow. We built the thing we needed back then. Turns out a lot of social teams needed it too. If you've ever been curious about it, DM me and we'll set up time to chat!
