🛠️ Troubleshooting a pump issue? Run this 15-point check before calling maintenance! 1/ Verify that the main electrical power is connected and no breakers or overload switches have tripped. 2/ With power off, turn the motor shaft by hand to confirm mechanical seal rings are free and not seized. 3/ Check the tank to ensure fluid is above the minimum level so the pump never runs dry. 4/ Confirm suction valves are wide open and the discharge valve is partially open. 5/ Ensure the pump casing is fully filled with fluid for proper priming and seal protection. 6/ Verify motor rotation is clockwise when looking from the cooling fan side. 7/ Inspect suction lines for air leaks or loose fittings that disrupt flow. 8/ Check casing, gaskets, and connections for active chemical leaks or drips. 9/ Clear any rags, chips, or foreign debris from the suction inlet and impeller. 10/ Ensure the motor fan cover and air vents are clear to prevent overheating. 11/ Confirm all piping is properly bracketed so weight does not stress pump connections. 12/ Listen for unusual noise or excessive vibration that indicates bearing or alignment issues. 13/ Check that pressure gauge and flow meter readings match system design specs. 14/ Inspect the housing interior for scale or crystallized deposits after long downtime. 15/ Log your findings on the inspection card before escalating to technical support. Taking 10 minutes to complete these checks can help reduce downtime and avoid unnecessary service calls. Still need help after completing these checks? Thank you to Cristian Son, Marco Marangoni, Martina Matteucci and A.I.MAN. Associazione Italiana Manutenzione for having us on La Casa della Manutenzione! You can always count on the Ai.Man. team to make things fun. They even got Simone Gosso to play Sherlock Holmes! 😂 We really enjoyed exchanging ideas about maintenance and came away with plenty of inspiration. Thanks to everyone involved for such an enjoyable conversation. Watch the full episode via the link in the comments. By the way.. how would you rate Simone’s performance as Sherlock Holmes out of 10? #savinobarbera #industrialpump #industrialmixer

You hear “custom made” a lot. But what exactly is being customized? If you’ve ever wondered what we mean by it at Savino Barbera, here’s the simple answer. You don’t necessarily have to adapt your process to one of our standard products. We can adapt the equipment to the requirements of your application. Maybe you’re handling a particular chemical at a specific temperature. Maybe your tank has unusual dimensions. Maybe you need a different immersion length, material, configuration or performance. And custom made doesn’t always mean designing an entirely new pump or mixer from scratch. Sometimes we can start from an existing model and adapt specific elements to your application. In other cases, we may need to go further. So, start with our standard range. See something that could work, but not quite as it is? Maybe you want to use our corrosion resistant plastic equipment, but your application doesn’t seem to fit one of the standard configurations. Talk to us. Tell us what you’re working with, and we’ll guide you from there. #SavinoBarbera #CustomMade #ChemicalPumps #IndustrialMixers #Corrosion

When should you repair, and when should you replace? Answer: When a pump stops performing as expected. But sometimes, the problem comes down to one component. So? What should you do? A worn mechanical seal, an impeller, a shaft, or another part may be all that needs attention. In those cases, having the right spare parts available can make the difference between a relatively straightforward repair and a much longer interruption. But if the same problem keeps coming back, simply replacing the damaged part may not tell you the whole story. Another questions.. What caused it to fail? Has the process changed? Are the operating conditions still the same? Is the pump still suitable for the liquid, temperature and application? Another answer: Sometimes the right spare part gets you running again. Sometimes a repair makes sense. And sometimes repeated repairs are telling you it is time to look at the bigger picture. Having an issue right now? Start by telling us what you’re noticing. We'll support you! Send us a message here on LinkedIn. #SavinoBarbera #Pumps #Maintenance #ChemicalIndustry

If corrosion is one of the challenges in your application, going plastic makes a lot of sense. The OP125D is made from polypropylene (PP), and all wetted parts, including nuts and bolts, are corrosion-resistant. But don’t let the word “plastic” make you wonder: “Is it strong enough?” Well, YES! The OP125D is a heavy-duty horizontal pump designed for continuous operation. → It is equipped with a 15 kW, 4-pole motor → It has a silicon carbide mechanical seal → It has a maximum delivery of 150 m³ and a maximum head of 24 mwc Don’t overlook this horizontal pump! Send us your plant details and operating conditions, and we’ll help you find the right configuration for your application. #SavinoBarbera #PlasticPumps #ChemicalPumps #Corrosion
