Today, we invite you to meet Natalia, Production Planner, who began her career at Rompetrol in 2020 through the Traineeship program, and Lucia, Petroleum Products Laboratory Supervisor, who brings 20 years of industry experience to her role. 🟠 From planning technological processes to testing and verifying the quality of petroleum products, their work highlights the importance of each stage in ensuring the refinery’s efficient operation. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬 𝐜𝐲𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞? Our colleague, Apostolescu S., represented Rompetrol on the panel “Cyber Across Industries: What Is Actually Working, and What the Next Wave Demands” at the Bucharest Cybersecurity Conference, organized by The Romanian National Cyber Security Directorate (Directoratul Național de Securitate Cibernetică), alongside security professionals from a range of industries. 💡One idea came up throughout the discussion: technology is only part of the answer. Real resilience comes from clear ownership, well-run processes, and the ability to respond quickly when it matters. Strengthening cybersecurity resilience requires a coordinated effort across multiple stakeholders, including management, business teams, IT, OT and external partners, with each contributing their expertise and capabilities to a shared objective. For Rompetrol (KMG International), as an operator of critical energy infrastructure, this is part of everyday work. 🔐 Keeping our operations safe and reliable depends on the whole organisation sharing responsibility for cybersecurity. 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐥 𝐑𝐚𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐞 continues investments in renewable energy – photovoltaic power plant for the #Petromidia refinery Rompetrol Rafinare continues to invest in improving energy efficiency and reducing the Petromidia refinery's carbon footprint by developing a photovoltaic power plant with an installed capacity of 𝟗.𝟒 𝐌𝐖. The new plant is expected to generate more than 𝟗,𝟖𝟎𝟎 𝐌𝐖𝐡 of renewable electricity annually, all of which will be used for the refinery's own consumption. 🟠 Through this project, Rompetrol Rafinare estimates an annual reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of more than 𝟔,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐭𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐎₂, contributing to improved energy and environmental performance at the industrial site. The total investment is approximately RON 44 million, including RON 14 million in non-refundable financing from the Modernization Fund. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2028. 🟠 The new investment complements the modernization and energy efficiency projects implemented at Petromidia in recent years. One example is the 𝐜𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭, which entered commercial operation at the end of 2025. The plant meets the refinery's electricity and process steam requirements, while surplus electricity is supplied to the National Power Grid. The Petromidia photovoltaic project is part of the KMG International (Rompetrol) Group's decarbonization strategy. It complements the recently announced investment at the #Vega refinery, where a 𝟒.𝟖 𝐌𝐖 photovoltaic power plant and an energy storage system of approximately 𝟗 𝐖𝐌𝐡 will be developed.
