🚀 Why choose a laser-cut tube (LCT) / laser-cut hypotube (LCHT) for your catheter backbone? Key advantages over traditional catheter constructs: ⚙️ True 1:1 torque — Crisp, predictable tip response. ⭕ Roundness under load (zero ovality) — Protects flow and maintains device integrity. 📏 Bigger ID, thinner wall — More lumen for implants, sensors, or device function without sacrificing strength. 🌀 Anatomy-matched flex profiles — Extensive library of laser-cut patterns lets catheter performance mirror real anatomy. 📈 Economical at scale — Automated laser cutting, post-processing, and inspection deliver cost-effective solutions at high volumes. 🔗 Value-add services — Integration of marker bands, pull wires, coils, jackets, liners, and more. At Resonetics, we combine raw material manufacturing, rapid prototyping, and the industry’s largest fleet of high-speed laser tube cutters to deliver tight-tolerance LCT/LCHT at scale. Coil to catheter fully integrated supply chain: 🏭 Vertically integrated — In-house stainless steel and nitinol hypotube manufacturing, combined with multiple component manufacturing sites equipped with high-throughput workstations, delivers built-in redundancy and reliable supply continuity. ⚡ Prototype → production — Our dedicated Lightspeed Lab accelerates prototyping with seamless transition to high-volume manufacturing. Whether you’re building the next-gen steerable shaft or ramping to full commercialization, we deliver speed, precision, and dependable scale—so you can stay focused on clinical impact, not manufacturing hurdles. 🤝 Your vision, our precision—lets partner on your next catheter development project. #MedTech #Catheters #LaserCutting #LCHT #LCT #Hypotube #ManufacturingExcellence #Prototyping #Automation #SupplyChain #Resonetics #LightspeedLab

Nitinol Tube to Complex Heart Valve! Thought you might like to see what a complex part like a Heart Valve Frame looks like after it has been laser cut, and what it looks like as a final part. This part was designed by the Resonetics Agile Team to showcase many of the features that could be on a Nitinol Heart Valve Frame (HVF). This post isn't about the skilled team that pulled this off, but if you need some design help, give David Rezac's team a call. Tube Selection - The part starts with a 6.5 mm x .3 wall premium tube. We're tube agnostic, so even though we would love to use our own tube, if you want us to use a specific tube, no problem. Laser Cutting - The cut pattern is designed taking into account the amount of material that will be removed during the surface finishing steps, then programmed into our custom Resonetics designed and built Femtosecond lasers. Note the clean edge quality in the photo. This allows less post processing downstream and better part performance. Shape Setting - On a future post I'll walk you through how many steps it takes to expand this to the finished part, and how we utilize a Shape-setting Data AI tool that we built in-house to determine how many steps are needed, the temperature, and the times for each step. Tooling design and use is critical here for perfect alignment and complex features. We designed the tooling for the complex bends you see in this part. Surface Finishing - Now it's on to Surface Finishing where the oxides from the oven are removed and the Electropolishing transforms this part into a biocompatible, corrosion resistant masterpiece. Then after testing and visual inspections, this part is ready to ship. Let me know what part of Nitinol Processing you want some additional info on or real case studies you'd like, and I'll see what I can do. #ResoneticsNitinol #ResoneticsAgile #NitinolHVF #HeartValveFrame

A sign from Nitinol History 🪧 Resonetics bought Memry back in 2023 but Memry Metals, originally incorporated as Memory Metals, Inc., was formed in 1981. Some fun history. Last week I visited our Bethel, CT location, where the former Memry location is. In the picture below I'm standing with John Tommessilli CPIM who was employee 4️⃣ and still works at Resonetics today. He is holding the original Memory Metals sign which he made himself in 1983. He cut the copper, cut out and applied the vinyl lettering and logo. The Elephant Logo? 🐘 Elephants are famous for their 'memory', so the Elephant logo was supposed to be represent Shape Memory materials that the company was founded on. I asked him what happened to the 'o' in Memory and he said they had to drop it because it was already being used, so Memry was born! The logo was dropped some time in the 1990s, I'll have to dig into that one. Ming Wu might know, he was employee 8️⃣ or so. And Pasquale Caricchio, a lifelong friend of John, and employee 9️⃣ is also still at Resonetics! The Nitinol History is interesting to me. It's like a hobby, I'm going to keep pulling the thread and see what turns up. I'll add this to the 'Nitinol Family Tree' of people and companies that shaped the industry we have today. Reach out if you think you have some interesting Niti history for me! #ResoneticsNitinol #NitinolFamilyTree #MemryHistory
