The concept of the 'Minimum Viable Company' only becomes truly powerful when it’s owned by the people who have the authority to make decisions — not just the people who attend the workshop. The organisations that move fastest are those that treat MVC as a leadership choice. They agree what must survive, make the difficult prioritisation decisions early, and understand the dependencies behind those decisions before disruption arrives. Without that ownership, everything remains “critical”. The scope keeps expanding, dependencies stay unclear, and MVC risks becoming a well-documented workshop outcome rather than a practical starting point for action. A very impressive document, perhaps — but not much use when things start to go wrong. In this short video, I share why executive ownership is essential to successful MVC execution, and why recovery is stronger when leaders are executing an agreed plan rather than debating priorities in the middle of a crisis. Minimum Viable Company (MVC) isn't a new concept, but it is becoming an increasingly important resilience lens. Some organisations have been on the MVC journey for years, while others are just starting. The value lies in helping leaders understand what really needs to work when pressure builds and where to focus investment and decision-making. Importantly, MVC is not a replacement for a broader Operational Resilience programme. It complements it by providing clarity on the minimum capabilities required to continue delivering critical outcomes during disruption. In an increasingly uncertain environment, that clarity matters more than ever. 💡 "We should have implemented the MVC concept much earlier" This is something I keep hearing in customer conversations in the last couple of months. The concept of the Minimum Viable Company (MVC) helps organisations prioritize upfront which systems, processes and components are truly essential – and therefore need to be protected or restored first when things go really wrong. 🎥 In my short video, I share why MVC is far more than traditional Business Continuity – and how organisations can build their MVC before a crisis scenario unfolds. 💬 How clearly is it defined in your organisation today what really needs to keep running when disruption strikes? I'd love to hear your perspective in the comments. I also recommend the perspectives shared by Bobbie R., Johanna P., James Houston as part of this MVC series. #MinimumViableCompany #Resilience #Leadership #PwC

Your people are your biggest investment — but are you giving them feedback worth growing from? Most organisations rely on top-down reviews that only tell part of the story. Real development happens when feedback comes from every direction — peers, managers, and direct reports — and is aligned to the values and leadership behaviours that actually matter to your culture. We built 360 Feedback for Workday to make that possible. Customisable templates. Multisource insights. Stronger leaders, teams, and connections.
