Proximie has been shortlisted for AI Innovation of the Year at the Health Tech World Awards 2026 🏆. It's clear surgical intelligence is having its moment, and we're proud to be one of the health tech companies leading the way. Because surgical excellence belongs to everyone, and that means more patients treated, sooner. Congratulations to our fellow nominees, C the Signs and Cera. The winner will be announced on 28 October.

🥁 Drum roll, please... We've won Innovation of the Year at the HTN - Health Tech News Awards 2026. Surgical intelligence sounded like science fiction just a few years ago. Today Proximie is the platform turning that big idea into reality. With every OR that’s connected, every robot or device that’s plugged in and every team that uses it, the intelligence compounds. Up close, that looks like Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust, a health system that puts new technology to work in real theatres, for real patients. Their robotic thoracic surgery team acted on what Proximie's ambient data capture and AI-driven real-time intelligence showed them. They cut nearly 20 minutes from each procedure and made room for one more patient on every list, every single day. That intelligence doesn't stay in one operating room. Every procedure makes the next one better, and that is how we bring the best surgery in the world to the people who need it, wherever they are.. Thank you to the team at Guy's and St Thomas', whose work and data were at the heart of our entry. Thank you also to HTN, and congratulations to our fellow finalists.

Proximie in action 📹 Inside the OR at UC San Diego with Dr. Ryan Broderick. Every procedure on Proximie is captured, so what happens in surgery doesn't stay in the room. So when a new technique is developed, it can travel faster.

At AdventHealth, the record said the case was finished. The room was still working. Once Proximie's surgical intelligence started capturing each OR event as it happened, the pattern was clear. Any given case had a 30% chance of running an hour longer than what was recorded. Every list, every start time and every staffing decision was being planned around the shorter version. "If the record is incomplete, every decision we make after that inherits that error." Linnette Johnson, SVP & Chief Clinical Operations Officer, AdventHealth Central Florida Division. So what happens when the record finally matches the room? In a recent presentation, Linnette shared what AdventHealth did next: planning each to-follow case, and the surgeon for it, around how long cases really take. The result was their best on-time rate for follow-on cases in six years, and 19% more OR time without building a single new room.

Data shouldn't be weaponised. Tell a surgical team their operating room utilisation rate is 65% and watch what happens. People go quiet. It sounds and lands like a verdict on their ability to do the job, even when it's just a number. Fiona Wheeler, interim CEO at Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust, has seen it land both ways. Hospitals have always tried to use OR time well. A four-hour session costs around £3,500, before you even add the medical staff running it. So the instinct to measure isn't new. What's changed is who's doing the telling. And how that story is told. Fiona's seen what changes when you take the manual override out. Real-time data isn't a manager handing someone a number, it's just what happened in the room, objectively and without a doubt. And when a team sees "13 cases instead of 8," that's a win they can see for themselves. Used that way, data stops being something teams brace for and starts being something they want to look at. Technology should make the room work better for the people in it. Not track them. Not police them. Not turn efficiency data into a weapon against the teams using it. Just the room, working better, for the people in it. #ThisisSurgery #surgicaldata #surgicalintelligence
