Congratulations to Dr. Hidehiro Iwakawa, Dr. Prashanthan Sanders, and the full author team on their new publication in Heart Rhythm Society: "Leadless pacemaker, right ventricular pacing burden, and heart failure." Guidelines have long used 20% and 40% right ventricular pacing (RVP) thresholds for transvenous pacemakers, but it hasn't been clear whether they apply to leadless pacemakers. Using real-world remote monitoring data from PaceMate® (3,167 leadless pacemaker patients across 71 centers in 31 states and more than 45,000 transmissions), the team found: Baseline RVP of 20% or higher, and of 40% or higher, identified patients at increased risk of a heart failure diagnosis. Heart failure risk rose steadily as pacing burden increased, about 3.5% for every 10% increase in RVP, with no single safe cutoff. 38% of patients saw their pacing burden change by 10% or more over follow-up, which shows the value of tracking it continuously rather than only at implant. Current leadless systems don't have established upgrade pathways, so these findings point to the importance of careful patient selection and close follow-up for patients expected to need a high degree of ventricular pacing. We're grateful to partner with the Centre for Heart Rhythm Disorders at Adelaide University and Royal Adelaide Hospital, and with this outstanding group of investigators from across the U.S. It's a privilege to see PaceMate data support research that shapes how clinicians care for device patients. AI is one of the most talked-about innovations in healthcare. But device clinics do not need more hype. They need solutions that reduce burden, support clinical teams, protect patient data, and deliver measurable value. On November 5, Chief Product Officer Sean Shoffstall, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Benjamin Steinberg, and Chief Technology Officer Gabe Rosu, will come together for a candid conversation about what AI must actually deliver in remote cardiac monitoring. The Device Clinic of the Future: Moving Beyond AI Automation to Clinical Impact in Cardiac Monitoring Follow the event on LinkedIn Live below. #HealthcareAI #CardiacMonitoring #Electrophysiology #DigitalHealth

Not all cardiac remote monitoring "rankings" are created equal. If you've recently searched for a cardiac remote monitoring platform, you've likely encountered "best vendor" lists, comparison guides, and ranking articles that appear objective at first glance. But who published them? What methodology was used? Can the claims actually be validated? When decisions impact clinical workflows, staffing, reimbursement, patient outcomes, cybersecurity, and long-term program performance, healthcare leaders deserve more than self-authored scorecards and unsupported percentages. Our latest guide outlines five questions every healthcare organization should ask when evaluating any cardiac remote monitoring vendor. 1. Evaluate the source 2. Examine the methodology 3. Verify the baseline data 4. Check for consistency 5. Demand proof Before your next vendor review, take five minutes to read this framework. Most conversations about cardiac remote monitoring focus on the transmission. But for many device clinics, the transmission is only a small part of the workload. The greater challenge is often everything that happens around it: managing multiple vendor portals, coordinating physician review, documenting encounters, capturing reimbursement, and helping patients stay connected. In our latest blog, Demi Thompson, RMA, CET, Practice Manager at Freeman Health System Cardiology, shares how rethinking workflow, not just technology, helped a small but growing device clinic reduce administrative burden, prioritize patients based on clinical risk, and create capacity for scalable, responsible growth.
