Some of the best ad angles are buried in a niche subreddit. You’ll often find someone describing the exact frustration your product solves, in language you’d never think to put in a brief. The difficult bit is finding it: knowing which communities to explore, scouring the threads, and spotting patterns across hundreds of comments. Turns out, AI agents are very good at this kind of research. We’ve just added a new prompt to Opteo’s Prompt Library for Meta accounts: “Mine Reddit for customer language” Run it on an account you manage, and Opteo finds relevant conversations, draws out customer pain points, objections and desires, and turns those insights into fresh ad concepts. You get the research in a presentation you can share with your team or client. See a concept you like? Ask Opteo to turn it into an image ad, then preview it and launch a test (all in the same conversation.) Here’s a quick walkthrough.

A moment of silence for VLOOKUP. It was one of my faves, and I can't remember the last time I used it. For years, my Meta creative analysis looked like this: ad names like red_suitcase_brick_bg_ugc_v3_final, exported to a spreadsheet, then a lookup on "contains ugc" to see whether UGC ads were winning. Fiddly (but it was great!) Here's how I'd do it today: 1. Analyse asset performance, not ads. These days one Meta ad can hold several images and video assets (a square for feed, a vertical for Stories etc). 2. Decide what to tag for this account. Look at a sample first. A luxury luggage brand might care about setting: a brick wall, a waterfront, rugged outdoors. A law firm needs a completely different set of tags. 3. Tag every asset. Have AI watch every video (properly, not just the thumbnail) and look at every image. 4. Isolate the performance delta for creative. The same exact ad in a retargeting ad set vs a cold, broad one will perform wildly differently. That's the audience talking, not the creative. So compare ads within each ad set, where the creative is the only thing that changes, find the lift there, then roll it all back up to the account level (that's a lot of pivot tables, another banger alongside vlookup). 5. Check both engagement and conversion lifts. A detail that wins on click-through or hook rate can sometimes lose on CPA. You're interested in both. 6. Turn it into learnings. A handful of findings, each with an example ad, and a few concepts to test next. This is a 1-click process in Opteo: open any Meta account, and click the saved prompt "Tag and analyze my ad creative elements". It does all six steps and rolls it up into an insightful report. If you're getting ready for Google's August 17th smart bidding update, we've just rolled out something in Opteo that should save you a lot of work. For some accounts, doing nothing could mean worse CPA/ROAS and lower efficiency. The challenge is that avoiding that outcome means reviewing every tCPA and tROAS target across your account. That's a lot of manual work. Google is recommending campaign-level targets to help, but they're based on campaign averages. They won't tell you which ad groups are most at risk, and if you use ad group targets, you'll need to work those out yourself. For a change this important, we wanted to make acting on it as easy as possible. So we built a workflow in our AI Chat that: - Scans every tCPA and tROAS target in the account (across ad groups, campaigns, and PMax) - Shows the campaign view and the ad group view side by side, so you decide where your new targets should live. - Sorts everything into two tiers: budget-limited campaigns that get hit on day one, and a watchlist of over performers that'll regress the moment they become budget-limited - Recommends a new target with a safety buffer, so you lock in efficiency without choking volume. You can apply the changes in one click. We tested it with a small group of users last week, and it's now live for everyone in Opteo. If you're going to use AI for PPC, you should use it for jobs like this. If you'd like to give it a go, we do offer a 14 day free trial with full access to our AI Chat: opteo.com/earlyaccess

Putting the out of office on 🤠 Writing the notes to hand over your PPC campaigns to your colleague 😪 It's an unwritten rule that something will go wrong when you go on holiday, so I try to take handover docs somewhat seriously. Turns out, so do a lot of people. One of my favourite recent trends has been teams using Opteo's AI Chat to prepare handing over their PPC accounts. Because it already has full account context, it ends up producing something very accurate and complete, in a few seconds. And when questions inevitably come up while you're away, the person covering can ask Opteo Chat as a first port of call!

Imagine discovering you've spent $900 for a single Google Ads click. We see click prices like this more often than you'd think. You'd expect more expensive clicks to deliver at least somewhat proportionally more value, but at the tail end of the bell curve we routinely see clicks priced above the target CPA, sometimes even above the customer lifetime value. Given that 80%+ of accounts are running smart bidding, and fewer than 7% wrap their campaigns in a portfolio bid strategy with a CPC bid cap (n=680,000 campaigns), the pattern often looks like this: The top 10% of most expensive clicks only drive only around 1% of conversions or conversion value. We've routinely saved customers hundreds of thousands of dollars by surfacing and capping this (verified with rigorous campaign experiments). It's as close as I've seen to transforming the results of an account in a single chess move. CPC banding isn't something that's commonly looked at and it can take a moment to wrap your head around it, so I shot a quick video that breaks down all the concepts and supporting data studies. I highly recommend digging into this sort of analysis on your own accounts. P.S. If you want to quickly see the CPC bands in your own accounts, the fastest path is the CPC bands feature in the new Opteo. Free trial link in the comments.
