Something I've been thinking about a lot lately, and I shared some of this on the Continuous Delivery Office Hours a few months ago. Many CTOs have some version of an AI productivity initiative running right now. Everyone needs to move faster, headcount is expensive, and the productivity case for AI seems obvious. I get it. I've thought the same things. But there's an equal and opposite reaction coming that we aren't talking about enough. In physics, increasing one force creates a reaction. The same thing happens in regulated organizations when you increase the volume of software changes. More changes create more incidents. More incidents trigger more compliance requirements. And compliance requirements only ever ratchet up. Once a requirement is added, especially where external regulators are paying attention, it almost never comes back off. So the organization that doubled its change volume with AI, got more incidents, and triggered a compliance response hasn't become more productive. It's made more changes, at roughly the same effective deployment frequency, but with a heavier compliance regime permanently bolted on. I'm not saying don't adopt AI. I'm saying: if half the investment goes into generating more code, and half goes into making each change safer and more traceable, you'll probably get further than going all in on one side. The teams that invest in both will have a real advantage over those that don't. That balance is exactly why we built Platform Hub (https://lnkd.in/gk_RzJj5) at Octopus Deploy. You can use it to scale compliance and risk alongside change volume, through smarter pipelines rather than more manual gates.

Follow every step exactly, or something breaks? Octopus removes the risks and the outdated deployment guide, too. Build your deployment process once and deploy the same way every time.
