In today’s evolving global environment, strengthening supply chain resilience and securing food systems are more important than ever. These priorities were at the heart of discussions at Argus Fertilizer Europe in Prague, where Amine Debbarh, Sales Director– West Europe, contributed to the session “European Competitiveness in a New Geopolitical Era: Securing Production, Energy, and Food Systems Amid Global Upheaval.” His intervention highlighted OCP Nutricrops’ approach to diversification and resilience, while underscoring the importance of efficient nutrient management and tailored crop nutrition in supporting farmers and strengthening food system resilience. Against this backdrop, the 4Rs of nutrient stewardship become even more critical. As a partner to European farmers, OCP Nutricrops supports the transition towards more efficient and sustainable agriculture through customized fertilizer solutions tailored to crop and soil needs. #ArgusFertilizerEurope #AgriculturalResilience #CropNutrition #4Rs

Every year, agrifood systems produce around 11 billion tonnes of food and support billions of livelihoods worldwide. Behind this production lies one essential resource: soil. Around 95% of the food we consume is directly or indirectly produced on soils, making soil health a foundation of food security, agricultural productivity, and long-term resilience. Healthy soils store and cycle nutrients, retain water, sustain biological activity, and help crops better adapt to changing growing conditions. This is where crop nutrition matters. Beyond feeding plants, it supports soil fertility, improves nutrient use efficiency, and helps build more resilient agricultural systems. Through science-based agronomy, customized fertilization solutions, and a deep understanding of local soil and crop needs, OCP Nutricrops helps strengthen the foundation of sustainable food production: healthy soils.

📍 Argentina | Aapresid Congress 2026 OCP Nutricrops was pleased to take part in the 34th Aapresid Congress, held over three days under the theme “Nuestro suelo, nuestra voz” (Our soil, our voice). The event brought together key voices from across the agricultural sector to exchange perspectives on soil health, phosphorus management and agricultural resilience. As part of the program, Leonardus Vergütz, Chief Scientific Officer – Science, Agronomy & Innovation at OCP Nutricrops, joined Fernando O. Garcia, former IPNI Director for the Southern Cone of Latin America, for a roundtable focused on phosphorus depletion in Argentina’s soils and the actions needed to address it. The discussion highlighted a significant nutrient imbalance. Over the past 30 years, approximately 4.5 million tonnes of phosphorus have been removed from Argentine soils, while phosphorus replenishment has reached around 60% in recent years. This imbalance also has implications for soil organic matter, soil structure, agricultural productivity and carbon sequestration. It also underscored the importance of science-based nutrient management, considering the right source, at the right rate, at the right time and in the right place, to reduce nutrient losses and optimize resource use. Through this engagement, OCP Nutricrops continues to strengthen its role as a scientific and sustainability partner for Argentine agriculture. #SoilHealth #AgriculturalResilience #Phosphorus

The exchange of agronomic knowledge is key to advancing more sustainable agriculture. This was at the heart of the sixth session of the Advanced School on Tropical Agriculture (ASTA), held in Brazil and jointly organized by UM6P - University Mohammed VI Polytechnic, the OCP Foundation, and the USP - Universidade de São Paulo. As part of the program, Leonardus Vergütz, Chief Scientific Officer at OCP Nutricrops, shared insights on sustainable phosphorus management and its role in improving soil fertility, resource-use efficiency, crop productivity, and climate resilience. The session brought together emerging scientists, professionals, and agronomic experts to exchange ideas and advance sustainable agriculture. #SustainableAgriculture #PlantNutrition

Healthy soils are at the heart of climate-smart agriculture. As climate conditions continue to change, productive and healthy soils are essential to building more resilient agricultural systems. Through science-based plant nutrition, we can better understand what soils and crops need, helping us apply nutrients with greater precision while supporting soil health over time. Caring for soils means supporting more sustainable agriculture, today and for the future. #PlantNutrition #SustainableAgriculture
