LinkedIn Advertising isn't overtly expensive unless you're running ads wrong. Obility has worked with advertisers spending less than 70 cents per click and with clear segmentation and compelling content, all advertisers should be paying less than $2.00 per click. For example, a data governance client wrote thought leadership for data scientists and leaders in business intelligence and analytics. Obility created niche segments by industry (e.g. finance, manufacturing), company size (mid-market, enterprise), and separated decision-makers from end users. This allowed us to see which content best resonated by industry, company size, and decision-making level. Furthermore, we could update copy and images to reflect the niche we were targeting. In addition to hyper-segmented ad sets, the client produced interesting, thought-provoking content, often leading with a question the audience had potentially considered and then providing a unique perspective. We often saw clickthrough rate above 6%! - pretty unheard of on LinkedIn but goes to show how interesting content plus segmented ads sets can really lower the cost per click for advertisers.

Every B2B marketer is wasting money on LI Ads by not digging into their targeting on a regular basis. Ad platforms are masters at targeting folks outside your ideal customer profile (ICP) no matter how well your audience targeting matches your internal ICP. I went into depth on how Obility combats the ad platforms in a blog post (note: it's a lengthy 10 minute read with multiple examples). These insights have helped our clients achieve higher engagement rates, better quality leads, and more efficient ad spend with an increase in pipeline to spend ratio. Key takeaways: + Broader is universally worse. Hyper-focused audiences outperform. Ignore platforms saying audiences are too small. + Job roles/functions are misleading. For example, "HR" encompasses many titles that may not be your ideal customer. Identify the job titles that best match your solution. + Run broader campaigns in conjunction with tight targeted campaigns. Continue to pull out top performing audience groups and devoting isolated budget to those audiences. + Create ads specific to your audiences, calling them out directly.

One of our cybersecurity clients saw a 283% increase in AI referral traffic in less than 12 months. The approach wasn't flashy. It was methodical. Here's what drove the results: → Net new content optimized for SEO and GEO best practices → Structured content specifically for LLM comprehension → Strategic brand mentions and visibility building across relevant communities → A+ website technical health → Internal linking architecture to reinforce priority topic clusters → Organic Reddit strategy for authentic brand presence The big idea is: GEO isn't separate from SEO. It's an extension of it. Chasing AI visibility without a strong SEO foundation is like building a skyscraper on sand. SEO provides the structure, authority, and technical health that AI systems need to trust and reference your content. When you integrate GEO into your existing SEO strategy, you're not just optimizing for traditional search. You're positioning your brand to be the authoritative source AI systems consistently turn to. If you're ready to see what a strategic SEO and GEO approach can do for your AI visibility, let's talk about building your roadmap at Obility.

Reddit has become one of the most powerful SEO and AI visibility channels, and most brands are sleeping on it. Google's AI Overviews are pulling heavily from Reddit threads. ChatGPT and Perplexity are citing Reddit discussions as trusted sources. The reason? Real people sharing real experiences. Here's what's happening: → Google signed a content licensing deal with Reddit, giving AI Overviews direct access to Reddit's massive archive → LLMs prioritize conversational, experience-driven content over corporate blog posts → Reddit threads rank for long-tail queries that traditional content never touched The shift is clear: AI systems trust community-vetted information. When someone asks ChatGPT for software recommendations or troubleshooting advice, Reddit threads often appear in the response. This creates a new opportunity for brands willing to engage authentically: → Participate in relevant subreddits where your audience already hangs out → Share genuine insights and solutions without being overly promotional → Let your expertise speak through helpful contributions, not sales pitches The brands showing up in AI-powered search results aren't always the ones with the biggest SEO budgets. They're the ones being discussed, recommended, and cited in real conversations. If Reddit isn't part of your visibility strategy yet, you're missing where your buyers are actually getting their answers. Start small: find 3 subreddits where your audience lives and just listen for a week. You'll learn more about what they actually need than any buyer persona doc could tell you.
