As we mark Human Rights Day and the conclusion of the #16Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign, Women’s Safety Commissioner Hannah Tonkin shares an important reflection: “Human rights shape our daily lives, often in ways we may not even notice. They contribute to our safety, security, autonomy and happiness. They are in the food we eat, the air we breathe, the words we speak, the opportunities we pursue and the protections that keep us safe. They are essential to build a culture of dignity and fairness for all of us.” The 16 Days of Activism may end, but our shared responsibility to uphold human rights and end gender-based violence is ongoing. Your voice has the power to create change. Support is available via: 📞 1800RESPECT (24/7): 1800 737 732 📞 NSW Domestic Violence Line (24/7): 1800 656 463
