"I'm not the kind of person who works hard because I want to become an Outstanding Employee but I work hard because I want to do my best. I joined Nova in 2020 as my first job after completing my PhD, and over the years I've had the chance to work closely with customers, colleagues, and teams across the company. A big part of my role is connecting different groups, understanding what is needed, and helping things move forward. This leads me to create various tools and utilities that make work easier. Sometimes a task that takes many repetitive steps can be completed with just a few clicks so I keep developing new efficiency tools. Knowing that colleagues in different sites are using them is very rewarding for me. This year also brought a different kind of challenge as I relocated from Taiwan to Israel and started a new chapter both professionally and personally. When I learned I had been selected as an Outstanding Employee, I felt proud. I knew how much time and effort I had invested in my projects, and it meant a lot to know that people saw that and appreciated it. The trip to Montenegro was a great experience. I enjoyed the ATV rides, horseback riding, and the chance to meet people from many different parts of Nova. Take brilliant engineers, give them a challenge with no instruction manual, and watch how they turn the world upside down just so a child with disabilities can win a board game. As part of the PlayAble project, we developed and built technology-driven games for children with disabilities at the "Asif" school at Shamir Medical Center (Assaf Harofeh). The initiative was brought to life by Dr. Yael Segev-Kurzweil, Physics Tech Lead at Nova. Yael first got to know the school during her national service years ago, and today her daughter is following in her footsteps as a national service volunteer there as well. Her deep connection over the years to the children and their challenges led to a clear realization: technology is the bridge that allows these kids to play, learn, and unlock their full potential. Together with Nova employees who eagerly brought their technical talents, and with the guidance of the school’s occupational therapy team, magic happened. The same determination, creativity, and problem-solving drive our teams bring to work every day were turned into accessible technologies that transform daily challenges into a world of possibilities. From an engineering device that helps children water the garden to adapted board games and social outdoor play, everything was customized so that every child can belong. "I came for a student job. Ten years later, I'm still growing here. When I was studying Chemical Engineering, I joined ancosys, now Nova Germany, CMD, as a working student. At the time, I was looking for a student position that would allow me to gain hands-on experience while studying. Even when I had the opportunity to work in Taiwan for two months as a student, I never imagined it would turn into a career. To complete my thesis, I joined another company for a period of time. It gave me valuable experience and new perspectives, but coming back felt natural. Since coming back in 2020, I've had the chance to work in different roles, visit customers and colleagues, and grow into my current position as Service Business Lead, where I work with teams across seven regions. When I moved into my current role two years ago, the biggest challenge was leaving behind a fantastic team of colleagues in Project Planning. However I get to work with great people around the world now, which makes the work very interesting, including the ones, that were so welcoming during my time in Taiwan as a student. No two days are the same, and that's exactly what I enjoy. The technical side is fascinating, the business side is fast paced, challenging and enriching, but for me, it's really about the people. I like building relationships, finding solutions together, and learning how different teams and cultures approach the same challenge. Outside of work, I like to hit the gym, spend time with my girlfriend, family and friends, play with my godson and travel whenever I can. Last year it was Peru, this year it's Nepal. I enjoy discovering new places and stepping outside my comfort zone. Looking back, I came for a student job and I stayed because I kept finding new opportunities to grow."
