NODE Roma is ON. A new address for some very substantial ambitions. In our industry, a promising technology can lead to an investment of hundreds of millions of euros. Sometimes billions. Before committing that capital, a client needs convincing evidence that the process will perform at scale and deliver an economic return. That is why we invest in places like #NODE Roma, which we inaugurated today. From applied research to pilot-scale validation, NODE gives us the capabilities to put technologies through their paces, understand how they perform and refine them before they reach industrial scale. The chemistry has to work. So do the economics. A technology that helps decarbonize must also make business sense for the company adopting it. That is what turns technical potential into industrial progress. The strength of #NODE lies in connecting complementary expertise, laboratories and demonstration plants, helping our technologies mature and bringing us closer to the clients and industrial partners who will put them to work. It is a very practical investment in what NEXTCHEM will deliver next. And the doors are open. Other companies can access spaces and capabilities to test compatible technologies, alongside opportunities for collaboration with universities. Good ideas need the right conditions to prove themselves. My thanks to the colleagues who made this happen. A great deal of expertise, persistence and decidedly unglamorous problem-solving goes into creating a place with this much potential. Today, we opened the doors. What comes through them next is the interesting part.

Technology is a lot more interesting when you see what it can do. Today we are kicking off our first #TechnologyWeek, which will also see the launch of #NODE, NEXTCHEM's international network of R&D centers. From today to 23 October, we're hosting a series of free webinars to get closer to our key technologies: how they work, the opportunities they unlock, and especially, what they can deliver for industry. I spend a lot of time discussing where our technologies can take us. This is an invitation to see what gets us there: the choices and the expertise behind what we bring to market. NODE connects our research capabilities. Technology Week opens up the conversation. Well done to everyone making both happen. Plenty of substance. Plenty to talk about. Europe’s energy future needs a good mixologist. We have all the ingredients - but can we bring them together? In conversation with Sara Deganello at Il Sole 24 Ore’s #ItalianEnergySummit, we discussed two that deserve a place in the mix: new-generation nuclear and critical raw materials. Let’s start with nuclear, where the reactor gets the attention - but a substantial part of the work happens around it. Around 40% of the investment in a plant concerns the nuclear island. The remaining 60% goes into the Balance of Plant: the engineering and materials science that allow the facility to function around the nuclear system. In NEXTCHEM, with Next-N, we work on the engineering needed to transform nuclear energy into electricity, which can be flexibly adapted to different nuclear technologies. Our objective is to help build a European supply chain, enabling new-generation nuclear to provide stable, continuous energy to downstream industries, including chemicals. Then there are critical raw materials: a matter of industrial security, starting with what we currently discard. Precious metals and rare earths end up in mixed waste instead of returning to the value chain. Through our recent acquisitions, we were entered recovery metallurgy and phosphoric acid - the latter a building block for both fertilizers and the treatment of components that enable lithium batteries to function. Europe had given up processing metals at home. With electrification and AI multiplying demand, bringing that capacity back is a condition for remaining competitive.

How can hydrogen production become a strategic lever for biorefineries? 📅 Join our webinar on 21 July 👉 Register here: https://lnkd.in/eMfu6jK9 As biorefineries evolve to meet growing efficiency demands, hydrogen production should be viewed as a strategic technology choice to be assessed from a different perspective. We’ll explore how different reforming technologies can support hydrogen production, from conventional approaches to electrified solutions depending on site conditions and project objectives. You’ll gain a clearer perspective on how to move beyond a standard application view, comparing NX Reform™ and NX eBlue™ to identify the most effective pathway for reliable, efficient, and sustainable hydrogen production. 🎙 Speakers ➡️ Paolo Mazzara, Commercial & Business Development HoD ➡️ Stefano Carenza, H2 & Syngas Group Leader ➡️ Matteo Mennella, H2 & Syngas Process Engineer
