We’re excited to welcome Jimmy Esdale as our new VP of Sales at Neura Health. Jimmy brings a strong combination of strategic sales leadership, market expansion expertise, and a proven track record of driving meaningful growth. At Viz.ai, he led initiatives that significantly expanded key accounts, while building lasting relationships with healthcare partners. What makes this especially exciting is how aligned his perspective is with our mission: “Neura is solving a real foundational problem that health systems feel every day. Access. The timing is right and the need is clear.” With his deep understanding of neurologic care leaders and health system needs, we’re excited for what’s ahead. Welcome to the team, Jimmy!
- Text-onlyA lot of virtual care companies talk about outcomes. Very few publish them in a peer-reviewed journal where anyone can check the work. Neura Health did, twice now. The most recent data, published in Headache, showed a 73% reduction in ER and urgent care visits among patients enrolled in our virtual neurology program, alongside meaningful drops in headache frequency and improvements in patient-reported disability. For a health system evaluating a specialty telehealth partner, that distinction matters. Anecdotes are easy. Peer review is not. It means the methodology has been scrutinized, not just the marketing copy. If you're doing diligence on a virtual specialty vendor, publication history is a fair question to ask. #Neurology #Teleneurology #Healthcare #Telehealth #PatientAccess #RHTP #RuralHealthLINKEDIN · TEXT-ONLYRecorded 27 Oct 2026
- Text-onlyFifty days New AAN research: patients wait an average of 50 days for a first neurology appointment. The surprising part is that the number of neurologists in a region barely changed that number. More bodies is not the whole fix. Better routing is. Fifty days is plenty of time for a patient to end up in your ED instead. That is the version of this problem your CFO already knows about. #PatientAccess #Neurology #CareDelivery #Outpatient #Healthcare #Telehealth #RHTP #RuralHealth #Teleneurology #RuralHealthTransformation #HealthcareStrategyLINKEDIN · TEXT-ONLYRecorded 27 Oct 2026
- Text-onlyNeurology Deserts Are a Geography Problem. Virtual Care Is a Geography Solution. Rural Medicare patients have significantly less geographic access to a neurologist than urban patients. Some regions have been described as “neurology deserts,” where the nearest specialist is a multi-hour drive away, if they can be seen at all. For health systems with large rural or regional catchment areas, this isn't a footnote. It's a big piece of why patients no-show, why conditions get caught late, and why some patients quietly seek care somewhere else entirely. Recruiting your way out of this isn't realistic when the national supply of neurologists isn't growing fast enough to fill urban vacancies, let alone rural ones. Virtual specialty care doesn't solve the workforce shortage, but it does solve the distance problem, putting a board-certified neurologist a video visit away instead of a three-hour drive. If your system covers rural counties, what does neurology access actually look like for those patients today? #Neurology #Teleneurology #Healthcare #Telehealth #PatientAccess #RHTP #RuralHealthLINKEDIN · TEXT-ONLYRecorded 27 Oct 2026
- Text-onlyNeurology Isn't One Shortage. It's About Thirty of Them. After the first post in this series, Dr. Tarek Dakakni made a point in the comments that's stuck with me all week: the neurologist shortage isn't really one shortage. Caring for stable dementia, a severe TBI survivor, and someone in a neuro ICU are three different jobs wearing the same job title. The data backs him up. Neurology has split into more than 30 subspecialties, and residents are now entering subspecialty fellowships at a rate over 90%. Meanwhile the pool of general neurologists, the ones who used to triage “what kind of neuro problem is this”, has contracted by more than 40%. That's a routing problem as much as a supply problem. Patients don't show up with a subspecialty label attached. They show up with symptoms, and someone has to figure out where they actually belong before the clock on their care even starts. Some health systems are solving this by using remote neurologists specifically for that first screening step, so subspecialists only see the patients who actually need them. More on that Thursday. Grateful to Dr. Dakakni for pushing this conversation somewhere more useful than another headcount statistic. #Neurology #Teleneurology #Healthcare #Telehealth #PatientAccess #RHTP #RuralHealthLINKEDIN · TEXT-ONLYRecorded 27 Oct 2026
- Text-onlyOne Cognitive Neurologist for Every One Million Dementia Patients As the US population ages, dementia diagnoses are climbing fast, and the specialists trained to evaluate and manage them are not. This is what people mean when they talk about the “silver tsunami” hitting health systems. It's not just capacity strain on primary care. It's a specific bottleneck at the exact point where early, accurate diagnosis matters most for patients and families. It's part of why we expanded Neura Health into memory care alongside our original focus on headache, migraine, and epilepsy. The goal isn't to replace the relationship a patient has with their PCP or local geriatrician. It's to make sure a cognitive specialist is reachable in weeks, not years, when someone actually needs one. How is your system planning for the demand curve on memory care over the next five years? #Neurology #Teleneurology #Healthcare #Telehealth #PatientAccess #RHTP #RuralHealthLINKEDIN · TEXT-ONLYRecorded 27 Oct 2026
