Interconnectors aren’t just about linking countries. They are an engineering feat and are vital to managing growing electricity demand. Our new National Grid and TenneT offshore hybrid project, LionLink, will also help us tap into cleaner energy more efficiently, through connecting directly to where offshore wind #energy is generated.

The North Sea is one of the best locations globally for offshore wind – and is a driver of UK economic growth. As we aim for a target of 300GW of offshore wind by 2050 in the UK and EU, the potential for growth and innovation is enormous. This is an ambitious goal, equivalent to five times the UK's peak demand and achieving it will require a more coordinated offshore grid.
