A Roadmap to Net Zero and Beyond How can shipping advance decarbonization while continuing to provide the reliable transportation global supply chains depend on? Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) updated the MOL Group Environmental Vision in April 2026 in alignment with its management plan, BLUE ACTION 2035 Phase 2. With a long-term goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, the Vision sets out milestones and three key actions to drive progress: ① Adoption of alternative fuels ② Improvement of fuel efficiency ③ Expansion of low-carbon and decarbonized businesses The strategy extends beyond reducing MOL's own GHG emissions. Through environmental solutions such as low- and zero-carbon transportation services, MOL also aims to contribute to decarbonization across society and customers' supply chains. As new fuels are introduced, MOL is also building the capabilities needed to use them safely and maintain stable operations. Seafarers are supported by technical and business teams on shore, bringing together operational experience and technical expertise as new fuels and technologies are introduced. This cross-functional approach also helps MOL address customers' concerns around safety and transportation schedules. By advancing decarbonization without compromising safe and reliable transportation, MOL aims to support the changing needs of global supply chains on the path toward 2050. Chemical Supply Chains Through Global Tank Storage Infrastructure Reliable storage infrastructure is an essential part of the global chemical supply chain. As the industry responds to growing demand for chemicals and next-generation energy products, as well as increasingly complex trade flows and logistics needs, customers require storage solutions that are safe, reliable, and strategically located. Together with LBC Tank Terminals, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) provides one of the world's largest independent tank terminal networks, supporting chemical manufacturers and energy companies across the world. LBC's strengths lie in its expertise across a broad product portfolio, strategically located terminals in major chemical industry hubs, and long-standing customer relationships. Together, these capabilities support customers by enabling the safe and reliable storage and transfer of liquid bulk cargo throughout the supply chain. As customer needs and product flows continue to evolve, LBC is also preparing its infrastructure to support next-generation energy products, including planned ammonia storage capabilities in Vlissingen around 2030. By combining operational expertise with a strong global terminal network, MOL contributes to chemical supply chains through safe, reliable, and efficient onshore storage solutions.
