MinLaw and Ministry of Digital Development and Information introduced the Online Safety (Relief and Accountability) Bill for First Reading in Parliament today. The proposed new measures enable victims of online harms to seek timely relief and obtain redress, complementing existing laws and regulatory measures to protect Singaporeans online. Here's what you need to know: 🏛️ Online Safety Commission - A new, dedicated agency to help victims seek timely remedies. ⚖️ Statutory torts - Clear legal basis for victims to hold those responsible accountable. 🔍 Enhanced accountability – Improved user identity information disclosure for perpetrators. The Bill was developed with input from stakeholders including industry partners, academics and community groups. Together, we can create a safer digital space for everyone.
