If it’s not defined, it’s not governed. There’s a big gap between trusting an AI vendor and actually governing one. 81% say they trust their AI vendors. Only 55% have defined how data is handled. (Cisco, 2026) Which means a lot of “governance” is still… trust. Not defined. Not enforced. Just assumed. And assumed trust doesn’t hold up. If there’s one thing to get right: move beyond assumed trust. Define your vendor data boundaries and make sure they’re continuously verified, not just documented. Because anything that isn’t clearly defined isn’t really under your control.

Privacy policies were never designed to control how systems behave. They were written to describe things, not enforce them. For a while, that was enough. Because privacy was mostly about compliance. Then it became about trust. Companies rewrote policies to be clearer, more transparent, more user-friendly. But that only goes so far. A policy can explain what should happen. It doesn’t guarantee that it does. And when there’s a gap between what your policy says and what actually happens, trust can break. Policies are starting to move beyond documentation. They’re becoming part of how data is actually handled across systems and workflows. Privacy isn’t defined by what you wrote. It’s defined by what actually happens. We broke down how policies evolved to get here, and what comes next ↓ https://lnkd.in/dA3KgRuY

Do your systems reflect what’s actually happening, or just what was documented in the last audit? Most teams hope it’s the first. In reality, it’s usually the second. It’s not for lack of effort. Most systems don’t just update themselves, people do. And people don’t move at the speed of today’s business. New tools get added, data flows change, and AI agents get introduced, often faster than anyone can update a record. The result? The system stays “accurate” on paper, but it’s no longer current in reality. We get it. That gap is the hardest part of the job to manage. It’s where the pressure builds, not because you’re missing something, but because the world changed while you were busy running the business. The good news? You don’t have to start over. The shift isn’t about replacing what you’ve already built. It’s about moving beyond systems that just store information, to ones that continuously reflect what’s happening and turn it into action. Because staying up to date isn’t enough anymore. The work has to keep up too. You’ve built the foundation. Now it needs to work with you, not rely on you to keep it alive.

AI Governance shouldn't mean starting from scratch. Next week, we're heading to Dublin for IAPP AI Governance Global Europe 2026. 🇮🇪 If you're looking for a practical way to bridge the gap between AI policy and real-world execution, join Gal Golan and Ron De Jesus for their session: 💡 Built From What You Have: A Privacy Practitioner’s Guide to AI Governance 📅 Wednesday, June 3 | 13:15–14:15 GMT 📍 Liffey Hall 2, Level 1 They’ll break down how to scale the tools you already have, like RoPAs, DPIAs, and data mapping, into a functional and effective AI governance framework. Throughout the event, you can also find the team at Booth 15 to catch a live look at Autonomous AI Governance in action. See you in Dublin! 👋 #IAPPAIGG26 #AIGovernance #PrivacyOps #AutonomousPrivacy #AutonomousAIGovernance

Every brand deserves its own experience. Managing multiple brands shouldn’t mean managing multiple privacy systems. But for most teams, that’s exactly the reality. You’re forced to choose: 1️⃣ Deliver a native, branded experience for every user 2️⃣ Keep operations centralized and scalable Most tools just can’t do both. We’re changing that with our new Multi-Brand DSR Management. Now, each brand can deliver a tailored, brand-native privacy experience, from domains to tone of voice, while everything is managed in one place behind the scenes. Here’s what that looks like in practice: ✔️ Tailored experiences for every brand ✔️ Centralized, scalable operations ✔️ Brand integrity and operational efficiency, together Full breakdown here: https://lnkd.in/djs4YT2Y
