#Frank_Monday Last week I wrote about how raw material markets mature in stages, and why each stage calls for a different way of trading. At Metalshub, we have built for those stages. Private tenders serve relationship-driven markets, and private and public auctions serve more mature ones. Some physical markets are ready for even more transparency and efficiency, even if they are not suited to an exchange. That is why I'm excited that we are launching the Metalshub Open Trading mode for exactly those markets. Companies will be able to trade standardised products anonymously with pre-approved counterparties, on standard terms, and see market prices as they form. With open trading, our customers now have every trading mode for physical markets in one place. Join me on 12 November on #MetalshubTalks, where Ill walk through how open trading works: https://lnkd.in/gg7PZ5bE Full announcement is in the comments. #Frank_Monday is my frank and honest take on what I keep seeing in raw material and commodity markets. #RawMaterials #Commodities #Metalshub #OpenTrading

Raw material enquiries usually arrive by email, and someone types each one into a system by hand. In our next MetalshubTalks webinar, host Davide Nava is joined by Dr Sebastian Kreft, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Metalshub, and Julien Dedek, Head of Platform AI, to show how AI reads the email and fills in the enquiry for you, with a live walkthrough from enquiry to offer. 📅 03 November 2026 | 15:00 CET 👉 Register now

When an industrial buyer sends out an enquiry with a Request for Quotation, it usually arrives by email: a spec, a volume, an incoterm, a delivery period. And it usually stays outside any system. Documenting it takes time, so when things get busy people take a shortcut, the offer goes out straight from the inbox. Lost offers are rarely recorded and the knowledge leaves with the sales person. This is a very practical job for AI: read the email, draft the enquiry and leave the sales manager to create the offer. On Tuesday, 3rd of November at 3 p.m. CET, Julien Dedek and myself will follow one enquiry on Metalshub, from the email it arrives in to the offer that goes out. Davide Nava is hosting this episode of MetalshubTalks, bring your questions! Registration link in the first comment. #metalshubtalks #ai

A lot of the AI talk in our industry is about models that can do everything. The work I see at raw material sellers is more specific. An enquiry comes in by email. Someone reads it, picks out the grade, the tonnage, the Incoterm and the delivery window, and retypes them before anyone can price an offer. That copying is work few people would miss. It's also where a tool built for one industry is strong: it knows which grades and delivery terms are normal for a material, and what each field should look like. What I care about most is what happens next. The AI drafts the enquiry, and the sales person reviews it, prices it and sends the offer. The judgement about the customer, the price and the risk stays with the person who is responsible for it. For me that is the right way to bring AI into a business. It takes over the repetitive work and gives people more time for the parts that need experience and a relationship with the customer. That is what progress should look like. In our next MetalshubTalks webinar on 3 November, Sebastian Kreft, Davide Nava and I will follow one enquiry on Metalshub, from the email to the offer, including the moment the sales person reviews the draft.
