For nearly 140 years, we've been part of America's journey. Each day, we continue to push boundaries in innovation and local investment. We're South Carolina craftsmen, Alabama engineers, and Georgia dreamers – headquartered in Atlanta, where Mercedes-Benz Stadium brings America together. We're morning commutes and weekend adventures. Dream cars and family traditions. Memories made and milestones marked. Mercedes-Benz isn’t just in America. We’re part of America.

The first in the US. In New York since 1888, Mercedes-Benz was the first foreign automaker to set up shop in the United States. Over 100 years later, the last known American Mercedes from 1905 returns to Manhattan to meet the all new Mercedes-Benz S-Class. With less than 100 made, this model was introduced specifically for the American market. It was unveiled at the New York Automobile Show on 26th and Madison, the second home to Madison Square Garden. Produced by Daimler Manufacturing Co., this unit is the last remaining example, reunited with its home city after being fastidiously maintained for by the Mercedes-Benz Classic Center and the Mercedes-Benz Museum. To Mercedes-Benz of Manhattan, the American Mercedes marks the beginning of the brand’s legacy in the city that never settles.

Our roots and connections in the United States – and especially in the great State of Alabama – run deep. In Tuscaloosa, we now celebrated just how strong they are: five million strong. At our global SUV hub, we marked two significant milestones: the world premieres of the new GLE and GLS, and five million vehicles assembled at our first major Mercedes‑Benz plant outside Germany, in operation since 1997. Nearly 30 years of excellence, innovation, and pride – from Alabama for customers around the world.

Back in the 1990s, Mercedes‑Benz took a bold step by becoming the first major OEM to establish manufacturing operations in the Deep South. In fact, we’re pioneers of the term ""local for local"". Today, there are several OEMs present in Alabama, assembling more than one million vehicles every year. The state has grown into the second‑largest vehicle exporting state in the U.S., according to the Alabama Department of Commerce. This incredible journey began with Mercedes‑Benz – and with the very first M‑Class rolling off the line at Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc. in 1997.

The ribbon is cut! We just opened our new Atlanta Technology Center in the heart of Atlanta’s historic Northyards area. This is a major step in establishing a unified North American headquarters presence in metro Atlanta. Bringing teams across areas like technical services, engineering, and R&D closer together helps us move faster, collaborate better and build even greater products for our customers in North America. Our new Atlanta Technology Center stands on a site once used as a railroad roundhouse: where locomotives were serviced to move people and goods across the region back in the day, Mercedes‑Benz teams will now invent, innovate, and define the future of mobility for generations to come. The spirit of connection and innovation will live on as Mercedes‑Benz engineers, technicians, and innovators from various backgrounds will collaborate and build products specifically for U.S. customers. The Mercedes-Benz Atlanta Technology Center represents a $34 million investment in the State of Georgia and underlines our long-standing dedication to the U.S. that goes back 138 years. From our manufacturing presence in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Charleston, South Carolina, to this new R&D hub right here in Atlanta, Georgia, our commitment only continues to grow stronger.
