Today we launch the HEAT (Harmful Environmental Agendas & Tactics) report, a groundbreaking cross-border investigation into climate disinformation across Germany, France, and the Netherlands. HEAT reveals how false climate narratives are not fringe anymore. They are coordinated, culturally embedded, and amplified across Facebook, Telegram, and X. Key findings: • Domestic and foreign actors (including Russian-linked networks) are exploiting platform loopholes. • Coordinated Inauthentic Behaviour (CIB) is slipping through platform cracks; amplifying climate lies on Facebook and X. • Current enforcement under the DSA is too fragmented to respond HEAT reveals what’s really at stake. Climate disinformation isn’t fringe. Is a systemic threat to democratic resilience. The HEAT project is supported by the European Media & Information Fund (EMIF), managed by the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the European University Institute. Logically worked on this project with EU DisinfoLab. Read the full report: https://lnkd.in/eXshjYmB #HEAT #ClimateDisinformation #DSA #EU #Disinfo #EMIFund

New Case Study: From Online Narratives to Offline Attacks Online hate often doesn’t just stay online. And this is something that is top of mind for most of our clients. How can they spot the early signs of online hostility becoming a real-life threat? Our latest deep dive shows how months of hostile narratives, doxxing, and coordinated amplification led to the June 14, 2025 attacks in Minnesota, USA. In this case study the team looks at: 1. How Threats Build: A Pattern of Digital and Behavioral Signals 2. What Precedes Violence: Detectable Patterns of Escalation 3. How niche channels seed stories that jump to X, Facebook, and broadcast news 4. Why executives and public officials are becoming prime targets 5. How Logically Intelligence gives teams a heads-up weeks before threats turn physical With Logically Intelligence, teams shift from passive monitoring to proactive prevention—surfacing narrative shifts across millions of posts before they become real-world threats. 🇫🇷 In France, climate disinformation is tightly woven into narratives of state control and elite overreach. The HEAT investigation reveals how conspiracy-laden content reframed environmental policy as a threat to liberty and livelihoods—particularly resonating with rural communities and legacy protest movements. What we found in France: • Climate policy was linked to “deep state” and “Great Reset” conspiracies • Fringe French-language platforms claimed regulation would lead to societal collapse • Yellow Vest-era grievances were reactivated to undermine climate legitimacy France is one chapter in a broader, cross-country investigation. HEAT also examines disinformation dynamics in Germany and the Netherlands—exposing common tactics, local adaptations, and platform blind spots across the EU. When a hurricane makes landfall or a wildfire spreads, the immediate focus is on physical damage. But in today’s environment, disasters don’t just happen in the real world — they also unfold online. Our latest case study, Weaponized Weather, shows how harmful narratives surge in the hours and days after disasters, filling the information vacuum before official updates are available. Using insights from Logically Intelligence, we analyzed more than 76,000 online posts tied to U.S. natural disasters between February 2024 and July 2025. Here’s what we found: > A small group of accounts repeatedly drive the majority of narrative amplification. > State-linked outlets often seed stories before domestic influencers pick them up. > Familiar conspiracy themes; FEMA failure, weather manipulation, land grabs reappear across multiple disasters. > AI-generated content is accelerating the speed and scale of these narratives. Why it matters: > For enterprise comms and risk teams, these narratives can erode trust with employees, customers, local communities and investors and create operational threats — especially when operations are tied to affected regions. > For government agencies, the same narratives complicate crisis response, undermine institutional credibility, and increase pressure on frontline teams. Understanding how these narratives take shape — and how quickly they spread — is critical for anyone responsible for protecting public trust, organizational resilience, or community safety. 🇳🇱 In the Netherlands, climate disinformation exploited public frustration around nitrogen policies, fueling fears of government overreach, land grabs, and a loss of national sovereignty. The HEAT investigation reveals how conspiratorial narratives tapped into post-pandemic anxieties, reframing climate action as authoritarian and illegitimate. What we found in the Netherlands: • The nitrogen crisis was rebranded as a threat to property and freedom • “Climate lockdowns” tied green policies to pandemic-era controls • Sovereignty and land rights became flashpoints for anti-climate messaging The Netherlands is one chapter in a wider cross-border analysis. HEAT also covers France and Germany, exposing shared patterns of disinformation, localised entry points, and systemic enforcement gaps.
