【𝟮𝟬 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹】 Every transformation begins with listening. In Link’s early years, Emmanuel Farcis, Managing Director of Group Asset Management, hosted community town halls over dim sum lunches to share enhancement plans and build trust with tenants and residents - conversations that shaped how Link engages with communities today. Two decades on, Emmanuel still leads with the same spirit of observation and care. After weekend hikes, he often visits Link’s fresh markets and malls, quietly studying lighting, layout and how people move through space. “I look at the sustainability of a property” he says. “If three or five years down the road, will it generate the same or better incomes? After all, the family depends on that for our livelihood.” As Emmanuel puts it, retail is a living, changing thing — and transformation means understanding why change happens and embracing it. From large-scale overhauls to today’s community-driven enhancements, his philosophy remains unchanged: true transformation is never about buildings alone, it’s about the lives that fill them. 【𝟐𝟎 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐔𝐧𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥】 Twenty years may seem like a brief moment, but they hold a lifetime of memories and transformation in our shared spaces. As Link marks its 20th anniversary, we sat down with Link Group CEO George Hongchoy, who took us back to his early days at Link, working from an office atop one of Link’s carparks in Wong Tai Sin. For the next 16 years, George rolled up his sleeves and led the change - big and small - from standardising mall temperatures to revitalising fresh markets and making tough calls in critical moments. Rising in just two decades to become Asia’s leading real estate investor and manager, George reflected on Link’s journey: “Being world class means we do things that are comparable to the best in the world, not just in Hong Kong. We take pride in ownership and adopt an attitude of responsibility whether we own or manage. And we never fall into the trap of assuming that if we build it, they will come. Link holds this promise to the people we serve; what we build fits their future.” Read the full interview: https://lnkd.in/gDYC2yPp #Link #Link20

【𝟮𝟬 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹】 Link’s story is one of transformation, and few have witnessed more of it than Keith Griffiths, renowned architect and Non-Executive Director of Link for 18 years. Believing that Link must look to the best in the world for inspiration to create a place that people want to be, not just a building for getting things done, Keith invited the designer of London’s Borough Market to conceptualise the revamped look and feel of Link’s Fresh Markets. The reinvention became so successful that it has transformed the way Hong Kong experiences wet markets over the past decade. As Link looks beyond Hong Kong, its years of hard-earned knowledge will be invaluable. “We need to think about the users and their culture. Our edge is that we offer an active understanding of the subtleties behind every neighbourhood and culture we deal with.” For Keith, Link is a made-in-Hong Kong success story to be proud of. And its next chapter promises to be just as exciting. Read the full interview: https://lnkd.in/gH9dTr8n #Link #Link20 #HongKong #KeithGriffiths

For him, the upcoming retirement marks not an end, but an opportunity for new voices to lead. What remains important is the solid foundation and culture the team has built — one that empowers Link to move forward through future cycles. 【𝟮𝟬 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗻𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹】 When the worst rainstorm in decades hit #HongKong in 2024, one of Link’s tenants saw its newly opened restaurant destroyed by flooding. For Gary Fok, Managing Director of Leasing (Hong Kong), it was more than just repairing a shopfront — it was about supporting the tenant through a crisis and getting its business back on its feet. His team worked alongside the operator to reopen within weeks, turning a setback into a story of resilience and partnership. That same spirit of care guides Gary’s everyday work. He chats with tenants regularly to understand the economic climate, and learn directly what works and what doesn’t. Back at the office, his team fine-tunes the balance of shops and services. Growing up in a public housing estate, Gary knows that each community is unique to its own time and place. “As for tenants, finding the right balance is critical. Does the community need what they offer? What works in Mong Kok may not work in Tin Shui Wai.” Gary hopes more burgeoning businesses will continue to look to Link as a partner. “Community-based retail has a wide range, from low to high end, to serve the immediate community. If you want to reach the masses, come to us.” Read the full interview: https://lnkd.in/gSjr4jBq #Link #Link20
