The best next step isn't always the obvious one. You've just drafted a client letter. Maybe it should be shorter. Maybe the client would prefer it in another language. On a busy day, these ideas don't always come to mind. Now Libra Workspace thinks one step ahead for you. After every answer, it suggests three possible next steps, based on your request, the context you're working in and what it can actually do at that moment. From turning a contract summary into a table to turning research into a short memo, every suggestion is a real task it can carry out right away. One click, and it continues. You discover what Libra Workspace can do right when you need it, without leaving your work. Try it with your next chat in your Libra Workspace.

How much context do you give when you ask an AI a legal question? An AI doesn't know who you're advising or what you need, so the answer often reads like a textbook: correct, but nothing you could send to a client. The new Getting Started course in Libra Academy is where we dive into that. You learn to give Libra context, a goal and a format, and you see the difference side by side with a weak and a strong prompt. It continues with your own documents: Libra answers with the exact sections it refers to, so you can check each one in the original, and in a shared project your colleagues can ask their own questions about the same documents. The course is guided by our Product & Legal Engineering teams and available in several languages. This is module 2 of 6: Chat & Working with Documents. Every week we take the next one. Last week we launched Libra’s editor, an in-app tool for document work. We built Libra’s editor so you can get more of your work done without leaving your workspace. That includes reviewing comments and redlines — even when they’ve been made in Word or other document tools. Once you've imported your document to Libra, you can get going with your review. Every redline and comment appears right in your draft. Libra Chat sits in the side panel, ready for research questions or to suggest wording, and you can accept or reject each suggestion with every change visible. Curious how it works? I've spoken before about the legal market having too much noise and not enough signal. What makes me optimistic is that AI can help change that. When I was a legal trainee at Germany's Federal Constitutional Court, we sorted the constitutional complaints into two piles. One held the machine-gun briefs, which objected to every fundamental right violation you could think of. The other held the sniper briefs, focused on a single point and often so convincing that you had to accept the claim was justified. AI could make the first pile bigger, but it can just as well do the opposite, raising the quality of legal work and shifting the balance towards signal. Even more encouraging is what AI can do for access to the law. Part of legal work is repetitive and could be standardized, yet for a long time hourly rates have kept that knowledge behind a paywall. If AI lowers that paywall, we get more equality of arms and better access to the law, and law becomes a tool that empowers people again. That is what drives us at Libra; we built a workspace where legal work happens, so lawyers can spend more of their time on what only people can do: the courtroom, the cross-examination, the creative work. In the long run, the leaders in legal AI will be those who first teach computers to think like a lawyer. That requires the strongest language models, an excellent technical team, legal engineering and high-quality content, and this is where we want to make a lasting contribution. Teaching computers to think like a lawyer is how we get there, and if we get it right, the sniper briefs will be the ones that multiply. I talked about all of this, and about the AI-native law firms I expect to see, in my interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, together with my colleague Stephanie Walter, who leads Wolters Kluwer in Germany. Thanks to Prof. Holger Schmidt and his team for a great conversation. Link in the comments.
