Can centralized architecture really be the right answer for the AI-Defined Vehicle (AIDV) era? As the automotive industry moves from Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs) toward AIDVs, vehicle architecture needs to address a broader set of requirements. Vehicle and market requirements vary, and the same computing architecture may not work across every vehicle segment. That is the focus of the final LG on board Expert Talks, bringing together LG Vehicle Solution experts across Product Planning, High-Performance Computing (HPC) Advanced Development, and Cabin AI Development. In this episode, the experts discuss how OEMs are balancing centralized and distributed computing, why common platforms are becoming important for software reuse, and how different computing strategies can address the needs of high-end and mass-market vehicles. The conversation also looks ahead to the next challenge: running and coordinating multiple AI models reliably within limited computing resources as the Head Unit evolves for the AIDV era. Watch the full discussion to explore how LG experts see the next evolution of vehicle architecture. 🔗 Discover more: https://lnkd.in/gfeBzvun 🔗 Explore more: https://lnkd.in/gqDXmsJx #LGVehicleSolution #LGElectronics #LGonBoard #ExpertTalks #HeadUnit #HPC #AIDV #SDV #VehicleArchitecture #AutomotiveAI #DrivingBetterFutureMobility

The shift from Software-Defined Vehicles (SDVs) to AI-Defined Vehicles (AIDVs) is raising new questions about vehicle architecture. For OEMs, the challenge goes beyond providing higher computing performance. As software and AI functions expand, they need to consider how software and AI services can run reliably and scale across vehicle lineups with different cost, performance, and functional requirements. In the final discussion of the LG on board Expert Talks series, LG Vehicle Solution experts explore one key question: How can OEMs run, coordinate, and scale software and AI services reliably across different vehicle lineups? The discussion covers computing strategies tailored to different vehicle needs, common middleware that supports software reuse across different computing structures, and the coordination of computing-resource allocation, data paths, and execution priorities required to run AI services reliably.
