As CISOs and their teams begin planning 2026 projects, the rapid adoption of AI code assistants and vibe coding has shuffled the budget decks. The security of AI-generated code is now a top and immediate priority for many organizations. In a recent report from Resilient Cyber's partner, Legit Security, about three-quarters of those surveyed said that securing AI-generated code is either the top priority or a high priority. Beyond that, 72% report that they have already budgeted or plan to budget for addressing risk associated with AI-assisted development. Where are these projects likely to focus initially? Based on the survey data, overall AI vulnerability mitigation and visibility/governance are likely to see initial investments. Based on this research, managing vulnerabilities introduced by AI is the top priority today, 73% of those surveyed reported this as their top concern. In terms of visibility and governance, it is also clear there are significant gaps. Only 17% of those surveyed said they are very confident in their visibility into how, when, and where AI is in use across development. These blind spots appear to be driving prioritization decisions, as 56% consider AI visibility and governance to be a top concern.
