Legend Networking & Telecom

Dentrix is down. Do you call Dentrix or do you call your IT provider? Most practices lose the first twenty minutes of an outage working out whose problem it is. This breaks down who fixes what across imaging, servers, networks, backups and security, so the next time it happens you make one call instead of three.

Most dental practices are told they have 24/7 support and assume that means someone is watching. A help desk waits for you to call. A network operations center watches the network and catches the problem first. They are not the same thing, and the difference shows up at 6am on a Monday when the server did not come back. Worth knowing which one you are actually paying for.

Changing dental IT companies is the part everyone puts off, usually because the last transition went badly. It does not have to be a cutover weekend. Done properly each step finishes before the next one starts, backups are verified before anything is switched off, and the practice does not lose a day. Here is the checklist we use.
