Three hotels in Rio de Janeiro cut water flow by 20 percent and saved more than R$ 1 million over twelve months. Arena Hotels & Suites has been awarded Certificação Green Key Brasil for all three of its properties, Arena Leme, Arena Copacabana and Arena Ipanema, after roughly a year of preparation. The environmental practices were already there before certification was ever discussed. What was missing was evidence. Green Key assesses procedures, indicators, and internal policies across every property at once, and manual tracking produces figures that are defensible on a one-property basis but impossible to compare across a portfolio. Arena did the work with HUBIS Consultoria, who guided and steered the implementation. Klappir's part was that water, energy, gas, waste, and emissions were consolidated into a single standardised record across all three hotels, which turned the compliance audit from a search for evidence into a review of what already existed.
