A customer left us three years ago for a competitor promising $200K in healthcare savings. Last quarter, they came back. Not because the savings didn't materialize—they did, at first. But over time, rising admin fees, service gaps, and annual insurance increases got ladled atop those promised savings, erasing them completely. What looked like a win on paper became a source of frustration. When they re-evaluated, they weren't shopping for the cheapest option. They were looking for a partner they could trust for the long haul. That story repeated itself across dozens of deals this quarter. Customers chose Justworks not because we undercut competitors on price, but because we showed up differently: with transparency, with service, and with a genuine interest in solving their problems. This was our biggest quarter ever at Justworks. But what I'm most proud of isn't the number—it's what the number represents: Doing well by doing good by our customers. Small businesses choosing partners over vendors. Long-term value over short-term savings. Trust over promises. That's the business we're building. And we're just getting started.

Small business owners start out with big dreams. They put it all on the line to make those dreams come to life. And, for the ones who have the grit and resilience to succeed, something magical happens – which is, that they create jobs out of thin air! These jobs give meaning to their employees' lives, which in turn creates the fabric for vibrant communities and a healthy society. Small business owners deserve the best. But the world makes it hard for them. Tariffs have turned some small businesses upside down. Inflation has been a big squeeze. We serve over 1,000 nonprofit organizations, and many of them lost important sources of funding overnight. New H-1B visa fees that big companies can absorb? Small companies are going to struggle to stomach these new costs. The cost of health insurance is growing way faster than overall inflation, and this makes it harder for small businesses to offer compelling benefits & compete for talent. And while AI can help small teams do more with less, these businesses often don’t have the same expertise & room to experiment as larger companies. Our industry is supposed to be there for these small businesses, and help them navigate all of these things. But it keeps falling short. Low service levels & low customer satisfaction are widespread, while non-transparent pricing, aggressive upsell tactics, and mercenary contract practices abound. We operate in an industry that has consistently made small business owners feel small. Justworks exists to change this. By consistently showing up as the partner small businesses have always deserved but never had before, we brought on more small businesses last quarter than any quarter in our history. The word is getting out that there is a better way. The status quo is not going to stand. We're changing the game for small businesses—and building a company for the ages as we do.

Do you know what 13th month pay is? Let me tell you. You hire an incredible designer in the Philippines. They're crushing it. Your team loves them. Everything's going smoothly. Then December rolls around, and you get a reminder about something called "13th month pay." In over 30 countries, employers are legally required to pay an additional month's salary at year-end. It's not a bonus you choose to give. It's mandated compensation. If you're hiring internationally (or thinking about it), this is one of those details that can quietly become a compliance nightmare. Here is a Justworks resource that breaks down what 13th month pay is, where it's required, and how to stay compliant without the headache. Because scaling globally shouldn't mean drowning in local labor law. https://lnkd.in/euaF5smH

Here's a question I get constantly: "Aren't PEOs expensive?" But the better question is: What is the true cost of managing payroll, compliance, and benefits manually? That cost includes serious payroll penalties, compliance gaps that lead to audits, and founder time lost to endless administration rather than building the core business. Data from Justworks confirms the ROI: Companies using PEOs experience 7-9% faster growth, 10-14% lower employee turnover, and are 50% less likely to fail. When you shift your mindset from viewing HR as a simple cost center to seeing it as critical competitive infrastructure, the financial benefits become obvious. If you're scaling your team, this article breaks down the numbers you need to consider: https://lnkd.in/eGVApKeP #PEO #HR #BusinessGrowth #Startups

Most small business owners start stressing about year-end compliance in mid-December. We're getting ahead of it now. The business is slowing down for the holidays. Everyone's trying to wrap up projects. And somewhere in the back of your mind, there's a nagging voice asking: Did I file everything I was supposed to? Year-end tax compliance isn't glamorous. But it's the kind of thing that can quietly derail your first quarter if you get it wrong. Miss a W-2 deadline? You're looking at penalties that start at $60 per form and scale up fast. Forget to issue 1099s to contractors? Same problem, different form. And that's before you even get into state-specific requirements, which vary wildly depending on where your team is located. Justworks created a comprehensive breakdown of the essential year-end forms small businesses need to file: W-2s, 1099s, unemployment filings, and more. It covers who needs to file what, when it's due, and what actually happens if you miss a deadline. The goal isn't to scare anyone. It's to give business owners clarity so they can plan ahead instead of reacting at the last minute. If you're closing out 2025 or supporting someone who is, this guide is worth keeping handy. https://lnkd.in/gh6DfDgx
