What if the next major resilience challenge facing financial institutions isn't operational, regulatory, or geopolitical... but cryptographic? For decades, cryptography has quietly protected the foundations of our digital economy. Every payment, authentication and digital transaction relies on trust built into these cryptographic systems. Today, the emergence of quantum computing raises an important strategic question for boards and executive teams : If our cryptographic foundations needed to change tomorrow, how quickly could our organizations adapt? Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) is often viewed as a technology topic. I believe it is now much more than that. It is about : • Business resilience • Customer trust • Regulatory preparedness • Long-term innovation capability The challenge is not predicting exactly when "Q-Day" will arrive. The challenge is ensuring we are ready when it does. Sensitive data is already being collected today, migration timelines span years, and the industry-wide transition will require coordination across the entire payments ecosystem. In my latest article, I share why financial institutions should start building their post-quantum roadmap now, and the three capabilities that will matter most : understanding cryptographic risk exposure, building crypto agility, and modernizing trust infrastructure. The future of trust will belong to organizations that prepare before mandates force them to. I'd be interested in hearing how your organization is approaching post-quantum readiness. #CyberResilience #PostQuantumCryptography #PQC #Payments #DigitalTrust #FinancialServices #Innovation #QuantumComputing #CyberSecurity #IDEMIA

The last few years have taught us a simple lesson : Efficiency alone is no longer enough. Resilience matters just as much. In the payment card industry, global supply chains have enabled remarkable scale and innovation. Yet semiconductor shortages, geopolitical tensions, tariffs, and sustainability challenges have exposed the vulnerabilities of overly fragmented value chains. This is why I strongly believe in a "glocal" approach: thinking globally while building stronger regional ecosystems. My latest article explains why developing a more integrated European payment card value chain is not only an industrial challenge, but also a strategic opportunity for Europe. From chip design to manufacturing, card production, personalization, and fulfillment, every investment that brings critical capabilities closer to our customers strengthens resilience, sustainability, and long-term competitiveness. Europe's journey toward greater technological sovereignty will not be achieved through one major breakthrough. It will be achieved through hundreds of deliberate decisions made over time. I invite you to read the article and share your perspective on how our industry can build more trusted and resilient payment ecosystems. #Payments #EconomicSecurity #MadeInEurope #TechnologySovereignty #SupplyChainResilience #Innovation #PaymentCards #Semiconductors
