A 1,883 meters tall mountain located on the south side of the town of Rjukan🏔️ Earlier this year, one of our technicians took his drone out and captured this beautiful photo of our data center alongside Gaustatoppen. Don’t worry, there is no fire in this building! This is Stig Forbregd 👇 He is our Operation Specialist-Fire Protection 🔥 Why do we need our own fire specialist at a data center? Fires in data centers are rare. Nevertheless, they can cause devastating damage if they occur. Not only to people and the environment, but also because data centers host critical digital services that businesses and society depend on every day. That is why we have Stig. He helps ensure that we operate as one unit, with everyone following the same procedures, receiving the same training, and knowing exactly what to do if an incident occurs. A key part of this work is training together with local emergency responders. Earlier this summer, our team at OSL-Enebakk conducted three emergency response exercises with the local fire department, involving 82 participants. 🚒🚓🚨 These exercises help our team strengthen communication, clarify roles and responsibilities, and ensure that emergency services can respond quickly and efficiently with the right information. Economic Impact of a 100MW data center at Undheim 💰 A new analysis from Menon Economics estimates the expected economic impact of our new data center campus SVG-Undheim, in the municipality of Time, Rogaland. The analysis highlights substantial value creation both during construction and in operation: Construction phase: 🔸NOK 5.9 billion in total value added 🔸NOK 8.2 billion in estimated investments in Norway 🔸Around 4,700 FTEs generated throughout the construction period When fully operational (100 MW) 🔸Around 135 FTEs annually in Norway 🔸NOK 1.3 billion in annual value added 🔸NOK 155 million in annual tax contributions The findings demonstrate how digital infrastructure investments can create long-term value through local suppliers, skilled employment, tax revenues, and broader economic activity.
