Are you part of the 46% that miss social contact with colleagues when working from home? According to Norstat’s latest survey of 2,000 office employees in Sweden, almost half of the people saying that they work from home at least once a week, miss the social interaction with colleagues. This is nothing new for our HR Manager Emma Quant. “When people don’t meet regularly, relationships gradually weaken. We know that strong relationships with colleagues have a major impact on job satisfaction and can be an important factor in an employee’s decision to stay with an organisation." With ten years in the industry, Emma has seen first-hand just how important the office is in creating a sense of belonging. "A sense of belonging is an important part of ensuring that everyone in an organisation works towards shared goals. A lack of belonging can therefore affect not only the feeling of being part of something bigger, but also how employees relate to their employer more generally.” “The office still plays an important role as a social meeting place, and that is something digital interaction cannot yet fully replace.” -------------- At DPJ, we believe the office should be a place people look forward to coming back to, not just for work, but for the people they work with. A well-designed office is about more than choosing the right furniture. The office layout, colours, materials and shared spaces all play a part in creating a workplace that feels right for the people using it every day. That was the focus when we helped Gia Premix create their new office interior. We asked Roger Karlsson, CEO of Gia Premix, to share his experience of working with DPJ Workspace, with our interior designer Emelie Huffsümmer working closely with Roger throughout the project. ◼️ How did you experience the communication with us throughout the project? “Very good. It was a big advantage to have the same point of contact throughout the entire process.” ◼️ How did you experience the process, from the initial contact and 3D visualisation to the finished result? “It was a smooth process from our first meeting at DPJ through to placing the order. We appreciated the help with the layout and colour choices. The 3D visualisation gave us a good overview, and it was easy to make changes throughout the project. We’re very happy with the final result and receive a lot of compliments from visitors.” ◼️ What did you appreciate most about working with us? “The personal contact.” ◼️ How has the new office interior affected your work environment and overall experience of the workplace? “The work environment is much better than before. We now have a more open-plan layout, which suits us well. The colours and soft carpet tiles create a calm atmosphere, and the new shared spaces where everyone can get together have been greatly appreciated.” Curious to see more from the project? Furnishing an office correctly is one of the best investments you can make. But it can also feel overwhelming for a number of reasons. First of all, it’s a significant investment, and it can be difficult to know exactly what the finished space will look like. Secondly, you need to consider things like ergonomics, acoustics, and lighting. And thirdly, it’s a time-consuming task that requires coordination and a lot of research. That’s why we created our interior design service. We asked Anastasia Klappenbach, one of our interior designers, to break down the process from start to finish. Step 1: Gathering relevant information “When we receive a request for interior design help, the first step is to make sure we have all the necessary material, such as accurate floor plans and relevant details about needs, budget, and specific requests. If everything is in place, we can usually get started right away. Sometimes, we may need to contact the client to gather some additional information.” Step 2: The office is designed digitally “Once we have everything we need, we begin designing the office digitally. Based on the information we’ve received about the space, we create as realistic a representation as possible. Using the client’s preferences and chosen interior design style, we then furnish the office with suitable furniture and details.” Step 3: Interior design proposal and quote “When the digital design is complete, we send the client floor plans and 3D visualizations, along with a complete product list and quote. If the client wishes, we can also schedule a digital meeting to go through the plans in more detail. At this stage, the office is fully designed, and the entire setup can be purchased as is. If the client wants to make changes, perhaps adding or removing something or swapping out a specific item, we make the adjustments and send a revised proposal.” Step 4: Office delivery “The next step is delivery and assembly. Depending on when the client wants the new interior delivered, this can happen within a few weeks or up to a year later. If the client has opted for assembly, we take care of unloading, assembly, and installation in the correct locations. Once everything is in place, we also remove all pallets, packaging, and other materials.” Want to see what this looks like in practice? Hur ofta sitter du i möte?
