A spectacular week of blistering golf! American John Catlin finally struck gold on his fifth attempt, capturing his maiden Link Hong Kong Open title under glorious sunshine at the Hong Kong Golf Club (Oct 25)! A special round of applause for local hero Matthew Cheung, who carded a superb three-under-par 67 in the final round to finish tied-second — the best-ever finish by a local player in the history of the Hong Kong Open! Big plans for long-term development! Hong Kong’s First Five-Year Plan sets out a clear vision for the city’s Northern Metropolis and integration with the broader Greater Bay Area. As one of 11 Greater Bay Area (GBA) cities, Hong Kong is enhancing soft connectivity—making it easier for residents to study, work and live across the boundary. This is supported by new transport infrastructure, including the Hong Kong-Shenzhen Western Rail Link, which will soon connect Hung Shui Kiu to Qianhaiwan in just 15 minutes. In parallel, the Northern Metropolis, a 30,000-hectare megaproject, is set to become the city’s next growth engine. It is planned to accommodate around 2.5 million residents, create 650,000 jobs, and feature an international education hub with three new university towns in Hung Shui Kiu, San Tin, and Ta Kwu Ling.
